Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

Add this and you could kill the entire concept with a £5000 mad moment [:D] How do you access the rear boot or add oil & water[&o]

Indeed, we know where you stand - perhaps it's time you stopped repeating it ad nauseam!
I could stop, but I might have to do it more now. the thread has gone full circle 5 times now already, even the new page pics have all been seen before on the last 3 pages worth. Some thing new needs to happen. Imho of course. :)

After 193 pages and, what, 10 cars in the club it's amazing it hasn't gone round full circle a dozen times. Go and make your video MrD and post it up, that'll keep us going for a bit.

As Rob has pointed out we are a small band of Spyders doing the best we can to share experiences good bad and fugly but if more of the viewers started to post as well we could treble the contributions overnight[;)] So one and all feel free to join our web[:D] Mr D are you in a position to conclude which one your light weights would win the day as a keeper with you or is the jury still out

ORIGINAL: White Spyder New pics, so what have I change and thoughts
Have another set and will redo as I'm not quite happy with the positioning.

For real! There's only a small few who actually talk about what they get up to in their cars. That's the main thing that interests me. [link=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kh3A1ERsvY4]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kh3A1ERsvY4[/link] But I guess people do whatever comes naturally and others contribute from different angles, whether they have a Spyder or not. Trouble is, this community, which i'd like to be a good place for knowledge share, will wither and die off if people don't contribute some knowledge or things they are thinking about or resources they've found. (Though I think all the resources have been found! But here's a belly full i'm not going to read as i've either already read them or they can't possibly say something that I haven't read in others[:D] [link=http://carreviewsearchengine.com/default.aspx/2011/PORSCHE/BOXSTER/]http://carreviewsearchengine.com/default.aspx/2011/PORSCHE/BOXSTER/[/link] ) Would be good to have a mechanical expert on here. For example, Motorhead gave me food for thought when I was considering whether to investigate getting the Cayman R tune on the Spyder. The community will hopefully also be a good place in the future when the cars get older and people want to share problems. The cars have been so good reliable that problems are certainly not an issue right now. I think the market watch is also a good angle. I think we certainly know the most about evaluating these cars (by teaching each other what spec choices work best). The OPC's should definitely listen to what we're saying about how they're pricing them[:D] So, it'll be whatever we make it, but where the inspiration comes from is in everyone's control...

Spydermen anyone on here having there wheels refinished in the GT3 Weiss Gold via Exel Wheels they just happened to mention this as they have just quoted for the very shiny mirror like Cayman R & 981/991 finish If its anyone here would be interested to know how they turn out Mr D it may be one of your Pistonhead threads if not one of the guys from here

White Spyder I'm not very adventurous and favour originality. Therefore my opinion won't be very open minded. But here's a thought, (not a recommendation). The Cayman R's stripe had a front section and no rear section. The Spyder's stripe had a rear section and no front section. What say you?

Stumbled across this just now. Might be of interest to you. [link=http://www.planet-9.com/987-cayman-boxster-modifications/55490-porsche-stripes-20.html]http://www.planet-9.com/987-cayman-boxster-modifications/55490-porsche-stripes-20.html[/link]

Don't like the script on the 981 ..also do not like the front strips on the Spyder either ,Prefer it just the way it comes.

The guy who sold his 430spider was going to buy one and do gold wheels. but the car he wanted got sold, righty or wrongly by the OPC. He does not seem to be in the Spyder market now.

Thanks for update. I will ask Exel to send me some pics after the wheels have been hopefully refitted to Spyder

Kenny Congrats and welcome Kenny We were admiring your car but not for very long as it sold quickly Coming from a 997 GT3 RS you will no doubt have many an interesting comparison story to tell once you've had the Spyder a few weeks (or days!). And also, what was the driver behind the change from one icon to another... Thanks...... looking forward to getting it but DVLA up to their usual tricks at the moment regarding number transfer etc. Was a spur of the moment decision buying the Spyder, I had been thinking of selling the GT3 RS for a few weeks due to becoming paranoid about putting more miles on it, just recently went over the 5000 mile hurdle. I knew the car was going to take a hit in value if I had used it more and to be honest I was spending more time looking at it in the garage and cleaning it than I was driving it. I now have another iconic car at approx 40% of the value of my GT3 RS but its not 40% of the car and I don't have to worry about the mileage I'm going to put on it. Was only going to have a look at it in Edinburgh but after 10 min test drive bought it there and then. I know its PDK and there are a lot of guys on this forum who prefer manuals but after having a demonstrator 991 for the last week I have to say I'm hooked on PDK, changes are so slick I doubt if I would go back to a manual (at this moment in time). Loved the 997 GT3 RS and had it for just over 1 year but its a bit of "been there done it" now, so time to move on. I'm also looking forward to lower running costs, ie tyre wear more than 3 - 4K miles from rears etc. I do think I am a 911 man at heart so would not rule out a return to another GT3 in the future. Kenny Spyder

The Spyder is the bespoke keeper if I can afford to keep it. It's a very expensive toy though which does not get used much. I love the R it is the best car I have owned I think now with the tweeks. And I have done 2k miles now already in it. I know the best way to get 350bhp from these cars, it's just money and not wanting to do it to both. I could of course sell one and spend 5k making one of them perfect. But I have never been one for driving a daily snotter and having the best car tucked away. It's crazy but my R is my daily hack and work horse. I spent a lot of time with researching tuning on my gen 1 to get 345bhp from 295 and would love to do the same on one of my cars. If I had to have 1 car, it would be a white Cayman R, with full leather and PCCB, so that would mean selling both !!! I wanted a red R but still not seen one ever for sale (and don't look now), I did not want white as the Spyder is white. But I like white the best on these models. My Spyder pulls away from my mates gen 2 cayman S PDK, but not been out vs the R yet. They say PDK is worth 80bhp in a drag race, so the Spyder holds it,s own. Any bets which will be vbox king when I test them ? I have 2 more track days booked , but no go pro , only a Sony cam and now sucker mounts have been banned I am getting no track footage for you guys :-( And last note, when is the GT Porsche Spyder review out ? And who's car was it ?

Not to sure about about the extended line. But how about enhancing your car with Spyder Logo's? (see below on 550 Spyder) Buy the Boxster Spyder logo for the door sill and mount only the Spyder section on the outside of the Hump.
