Why don't they reveal the actual time? They must be stil trying to improve the time, regardless of whether it is currenly slower or faster than the 918. To drag it out will take the shine off their achievement because it's taken so muchtime and effort to extract it from the car. It's an unofficial statistic that doesn't have a written rule book plus is heavily driver dependent, so are they spending too much time and money on something the customer isn't going to.benefit from? Like the pic of 4C breaking the Nurburgring record for road cars under 250hp. OK that also makes it faster than a BMW M3 and matching the more powerful Cayman S, but taping up the panel gaps for less drag distances the achievement from the customer car. They probably could've set the record without the tape and people could relate to it more, even if the record was set at a few tenths higher.

ORIGINAL: jdpef356 New page new Spyder pic in GREEN - its all about the shade of green - or could it just be the Shape of the Spyder?[;)]

I don't dislike Green and I certainly would have bought a Spyder in Viper Green PTS John could you knock up a Spyder in the Porsche Puke Green parked alongside a Cayman R would be nice in a matching shade[:D]

There was one viper green Cayman R sold in the UK it looks stunning. Always best to have a in your face colour or the launch colour to show off rarer cars. The Elise's look stunning in chrome orange.

Agreed Cayman special models look great in viper green and brighter colours. My Cayman Sport Limited edition looked great in Viper. Much missed. Cliff

There is a darkish Mt Green colour which is like a 'British Racing Green' which I like but wasn't available on the R's

Perhaps is that old superstition about Green car being unlucky[&:] http://www.strangequestions.com/question/1035/Why-are-green-cars-unlucky.html

That's the problem Rob K most people think like Fire_2 and I only ever knew of 2 people who had the very dark GRG on 80's 911 & 928 back in the day and both did an absolute bomb as Green and Porsche is about as bad as it gets in the UK market at least

I know someone who had a Green metallic 996 cab with a tan interior. IMHO it looked fab! I bet Rob K knew this car too.

Totally agree looks fantastic but doesn't change the fact it's a hard colour to sell after you are done with it

One short ride in that green 996 was enough to convince me to buy one! I love the fact that most people don't buy green cars. I have had my 5 series nearly 5 years now and have never seen one the same. If I had black or silver I would have seen thousands. Would be a dull place if we all liked the same.

Some colourful Caymen
