Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

Covered about 500 miles since collecting it from flat6/Cecil. Headed straight to the EVO Triangle to get to know it, stayed up there at a nice B&B called Ellingham House in Colwyn Bay where I'd been on a previous Triangle trip, then headed out the next day to cover some of the roads Andy suggested (who also tipped me off about the car) which were brilliant in places!
Welcome onto the forum Anthony! It's nice to see the car being used in the environment in which it excels[:)] Roof on but rear screen out is a super cool look[;)] I think I want another one[8|][&o][:D]

Are you in mourning already? I think Rob has previously pointed out a number of people who ended up getting a second one. Like he did but with a longer delay that possibly involves buying something else to disappoint you first! [:D] Can I keep using mine or are you going to make me a bid? [:D][:D][:D]

Yes a slight mourning. Will soon get over it[:D] I might get another simply because its a fairly safe option to sink a pile of money into a car. 997 GTS still a bit to pricey for my wallet. 4C has a 2 year waiting list. 997.1 turbos has risen by about £4K at OPCs in recent months

There's a nice 997.2 C4S at OPC Cambridge. I like the red stripe across the back. Perfect for winters commuting the M62... Pity summer's just around the corner [:D]

I do remember you eyeing up a C4S one time when we were at PC Wilmslow. It's been simmering away in your subconscience for a while me thinks[;)] Forgot to say, i'd be tempted by your Spyder but it has the 'wrong' transmission in terms of what I want to try next[:)] Buckets and manual is a popular combination though. You'd sell that quicker than it would take you to come to terms with the loss, believe me[;)]

ORIGINAL: VvrooomM Early heads up for any budding spyder owners or lurkers. My 2011 plat silver, climate cooled, pdk with chrono, bucket seated and spyder wheeled, pse, nav, bluetooth, rear park equipped car will be on the market shortly. 10 months porsche warranty and MOT, new tyres, 12400 miles. Probably mid April due weekends away and a weeks holiday meaning i will not be around much and didn't want to disappoint any prospective buyers responding to pistonheads advert. Feel free to PM Cheers VvrooomM
I guess he's away now but not long for this to be on offer if it hasn't gone already...

Good video, thanks for sharing. I prefer 4wd 911s, makes the front end much more planted. The 4S I referred to does seem good value compared to the GTSs up for sale. Just make sure you get something quickly before Maurice makes you invest in a new kart!!

So we could yet see Flat6 come buy us in his ALFERA ROMARI[;)] Six models in the next five years. But can he wait? [8|]

I can't see it myself. Ferrari fettle the Maserati engines. Those are premium sports cars. Most of Alfa's range will be more commodity cars, but slightly more upmarket than the Fiat badge (in a similar way to why Ford bought Volvo and stopped making cars like the Scorpio as they felt that people would pay premium prices for big Volvos rather than big Fords). Why they'd need to get Ferrari built engines in cars like the Giulietta and 159 I don't know. Maybe on if their new big cars has a V8 at the top of the range it'll get a Maserati derived engine, which be traced back to having had a Ferrari input, just like how the 8C has a Maserati V8. I think if Fiat are going to go to that much effort to save Alfa then they're getting a bit too passionate about it and losingsight of the real problems and so far their formulas haven't been working to revive them, so do they really risk diluting the Ferrari brand for the sake of Alfa? The problem with the last crop of cars hasn't been the engine. The Brera was too heavy and slow to be sporty. Then many models were killed off without Fiat supplying budget for replacement. Just having the Giulietta and Mito, which aren't bad cars, as the sole face of a brand like Alfa just doesn't look right and they want too much for them too. Increasing the prices further with 'Powered by Ferrari' badges might take the cars beyond what the Alfisti are willing to pay[8|]
