Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

ORIGINAL: MrDemon Deleting that post is a muscle flex, the girl was fully clothed. Which means I cannot post a picture of my car if my girlfriend is in the picture in a summer top and skirt ! Only if she wears jeans and a polo neck !!! Noobies will start thinking all Spyders owners are gay If it,s all male content :-(
It could well have been a members wife! I don't think the question was asked. Imagine how they would feel [:(]

As far as I know there are just TWO Spyders for sale today OPC x 1 Black Car & Indi x 1 White Car I am ignoring the overpriced Cat "D" so this is really getting to a low number considering the season for drop top cars is upon us[8D] My money is on the OPC car going first[:D]

I agree, OPC car next. Good spec and better colour combo. Despite the extra white painted bits I think the red leather is appealing to the sports seats punters.Works better on buckets with the grey alcantara inserts imho. Given how its been to sell (3 times? no sale?) I'm surprised they keep giving it a price its struggling to reach. No doubt a good car underneath its makeup.

ORIGINAL: flat6 Welcome onto the forum Anthony! It's nice to see the car being used in the environment in which it excels[:)] Roof on but rear screen out is a super cool look[;)] I think I want another one[8|][&o][:D]
Thanks. I love the way it looks without that rear section. Probably the main pull towards buying the car. :)

Welcome tyinsky and look forward to reading your first road impressions after that 500 mile bonding experience [;)] Try some topless motoring that's what the Spyder was originally designed for ....... wind in the hair PSE in the ears does it get any better[8D]

Spent some time looking over black opc car at Hatfield yesterday while mine being summer tyre swapped I definately Much prefer it in white ! It was all too dark for me - perhaps lighter interior would've helped but it didn't do it for me like the white or red ones .lovely white 981 though ......

Well unfortunately that isn't my car..[:(] The wife helps me take my mind off it though *

Doesn't help having the silver grey belts and door pulls and black wheels ... that particular example just doesn't look bright enough in the flesh could do with a really good detailing far to many swirls for my money[&o]

I'll probably have the roof off at some point (occasionally). Don't really have any first impressions, or at least anything that will be new to existing Spyder owners. Wouldn't be fair to compare it to the 964 as they are so different and equally good. I did find it very easy to drive quickly around the triangle and had more confidence than in other Porsches I've driven around it (964, 997s), although that could be down do it being more familiar or whatever other factors come into play like the weather, my mood... It feels special which was something high on my list for whatever I bought. Used to have a 3.2S Boxster which although very nice, did not feel special. Love the look of it. Wasn't sure about the black wheels initially but as soon as I saw them in person I was sold on them. With the roof on and the rear section left out it looks incredible (to me). Really like the PSE, the look of that clock thing in the centre of the dash which I have no clue how to work/turn on, the sat nav is the worst I have experienced in many years, those door pull things feel really crappy to use but look lovely, I was initially going to buy a Porsche Sport steering wheel for it but not bothering now as I like the one in it (helps that it is all black - think the silver insert was my issue), short shift seems good although it will take me a while to get fully used to the changes being so close. Rear visibility is awesome - reversing has never been easier! ;) At first it didn't feel as quick as I expected, but in reflection I think it is. Basically just really thrilled with it. Had a brief moment of "what am I doing?" on Friday night before collecting it. Bought unseen of the internet, has already transferred a large amount of money to someone who I had never met, for a car I had not looked at in person or had inspected. Luckily for me it was Cecil! :) Taking it to Wales for the weekend was probably the best thing I could of done. Getting a new car is a great day as it is, probably the most memorable in the ownership timeline, so combining it with a two day road trip was perfect. Great roads courtesy of Andy's recommendations and maps, good weather, excellent B&B with a tasty breakfast, Police escort to the pub complete with blue lights (couldn't find it on the satnav so they kindly helped me out - struggled to keep up!), train ride 2/3rds of the way up Snowdon and a 2-hour walk back down. Tea and cakes in the Ugly House Tea Rooms and a wee in a compost toilet. Can't remember the last time I overtook as many cars. By the time I got back the wind noise from behind my right ear was tiring (doesn't seem as bad on the passenger side?) but other than that more than happy. Hopefully I will get chance to take it out for an hour at the weekend.

great car to buy. I also want a sports steering wheel, but would like the RS 4.0 one, at great cost though :-( would look very cool in a Spyder imo

That wheel looks super. I have just ordered a sports design wheel from suncoast and my sister will collect it for me in september when she is over there. I was thinking of then having it re covered in black leather with the red band on top and red stitching. The recover and stitching can be done for about £150 and the wheel has cost $1087 including postage within US. A lot cheeper than ordering an OPC red and black wheel Royal Steering Wheels will recover your wheel for you !!

Would you miss Sports Chrono in a manual car? I have had it in my last two Porsche's and never used it. Looked nice though i guess :/....Maybe i am missing something.
