Now SOLD.....was told sold within 1 hour of being on the web site ..and could have sold it 5 times over such was the demand .

Nice to know .[;)]

Well, assuming that that quote was not just salesman hype/talk, then it is nice to know that the value of our Spyder remains high.

As per previous post, I think the red paint within the cabin looks a bit iffy, especially around the gear-lever

Anyone striping there Spyder for summer 2017 [8D]

wonder what the breakdown was on the seat options, I know when I ordered mine I was told you can have an earlier car if you change to sports seats rather than buckets, most seem to have buckets of one sort or the other

I think most had the buckets fitted ..the option for the 918 where available for an extra £1K for a while but on the GT4 this option was around £4k strange !

The DFS seats 18 way are no doubt the less desirable but defiantly the most comfortable especially on a long trips .I note the rear trim round the exhaust has been colour coded nice touch I like it.. but do not think it was a factory option . Agate looks classy it has to be said prefer it to any of the Silver hues available .

The red trim round the gear lever I agree looks a bit overkill that is why I am glad I deleted it ,the rest is fine imo ...that is why so many options are available its all down to ones personnel choice .

Nice to see there is movement and strong prices even at this time of year ..It will be interesting come summer time to see how prices will go for both the 987 and 981 Spyders

Car colour is a strange thing. I like the Agate Grey, having seen a Spyder in Agate Grey in the PC Nottingham.

But then I was watching an Autocar video of the new 911GTS. The test car was AG and it looked terrible

My Spyder is Jet Black Mettalic. But I do like the bright blues that Porsche offer (Miami Blue?)

As you say all personnel choice ...as Henry Ford said you can have any colour so long as its black .

For me would never have an other black car ...had one once and spent all my time cleaning it and on one occasion on a PCGB run took it to Jet wash half way through it was soooooo dirty... sad I know

Yes, keeping it clean and shiny can be a problem. But I invested in some paint protection to protect my investment. The need for this was highlighted to me when I sent to see the Agate Grey Spyder that PC Nottingham had last Summer: the rear wings, immediately in front of the rear wheels were badly stone chipped after only 1200 or so miles.

So I had Suntek paint protection film over all the forward facing surfaces; followed by Gtechniq CS Ceramic coating on all the remaining paint surfaces; and all topped off with a coat of Gtechniq's Exo. The water beads off nicely. The muck does not stick so badly. And no stone chips to date. Fingers crossed

Looks like the exact treatment I got done to my Spyder except mine was Xpell and all the same Gtechnic products .I also apply Gtec C2V3 a fine spray after I dry it off keeps the beading toped up .The Xpell /Suntek is worth it to keep the front ends good .I also got the rear arches covered both the inside and outside round to the exhaust .

From memory, the PPF was applied to: nose/spoiler, bonnet, front wings, sills, front of rear arches, door mirrors and the surround to the front windscreen.

When they were applying the Gtechniq CS Black/Exo, I also had them treat the rest of the car, inside and out!!! So they:

Gtechniq CS Black with EXO. Single Stage Machine Polish. Gtechniq C5 - Wheels off all insides and faces coated. Cabriolet Roof Sealant. External Glass Coated with G1 Rain Repellent. Interior leather and fabrics all coated with water, dirt and oil repellent Gtechniq I1 and L1. All done by APM Customs in Deeside/Chester. I can highly recommend them and I was very pleased with the results

Finally managed to get back on the salt free roads after all this rain and as the track was nice and dry and the sun was shining 12' temp I just had to have a quick fun filled blast - Roll on Spring [8D]

The GTS in the autocar test is not Agate...its graphite blue

Its good to see the cars are still holding well in value. That wasn't the reason I bought the car, I've had it from new in October 2015, but I do get itchy feet so will be swopping my car in shortly for 991.2 GTS. Really enjoyed, and still am enjoying!, the Spyder but life is too short not to indulge yourself in driving the greatest number of great cars!

Great cars seem to stay with people I find, although I have missed a few once sold.

The 981 just misses that boat sorry to say, even the GT4 and Spyders are movers by a big % of people, so just not that great it seems :)

The soul has gone from Porsche imo, 1st with EPS and then fitting GT cars with auto's,PTV ,EPS, PASM etc etc just easier and easier to drive faster and faster, quite dull after the initial fun.

Hence why I bought another Cayman R which has no PTV ,EPS, PASM , after selling mine for a GT4, It's the next 964RS imo.

991.2 GTS even a bigger sway towards less involvement and now Turbo. A car I don't get one bit, just buy a Turbo S 2nd hand cheaper, it's a better car with a better engine.

One of the many advantages of living in a First World Country is that all sorts of tastes and views can be accommodated in most consumer items. We can each choose what suits us and then get on with it. No one thing is right for us all.

As a football fan I do remember a very famous quote that one manager made of another; ' We all think we have the prettiest wife at home'. This statement seems to fit a number of scenarios!

Thanks for above John

In the sixties I was in the Army. I recall one Bombardier Burns, a PTI. Dressed in tight black leggings and a red and black hooped top (Denis the Menace style) Burns was five foot nothing and had a barrel chest. Burns had seen a bit of life and more.................

One day whilst we were in the Gym Burns wife came in with an urgent message for him. She then left.

Burns then walked over to Junior Gunner Shircore, At sixteen years of age Shircore was six two, fifteen stone and already a junior heavy weight boxing champion. Burns looked him in the eye and then in a flash of arms, fist and legs proceed to put in on his back, Shirecore was out for the count!

Burns went to the front of the squard. 'I expect you wonder why I did that'? he said?.

Well. he continued 'I'm the only bloke who is allowed to call my missus ugly'

------------------

The above is well off topic I know . Johns quote above 'We all think we have the prettiest wife at home'. can be said in many ways and with Valentines days looming it would be a brave man to say anything other than above.

Back on Topic before the forum police arrive.

Enjoy your SPYDERS,

And your Missus
