matters not about private vs OPC imo it's all about the spec you want to own. Most private cars have OPC warranty also or extended so just the same as buying OPC. I cannot sell mine now as I know I would not find another White Manual car with PCCB and no air con but with buckets, spyder wheels, PSE, Short shift, leather dash, sports mode. people say my car was no spec but it was over 60k spec, it's just the lightweight spec.

Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

Full 2 year warranty at OPC always a bonus and if they all prep cars like Edinburgh then the attraction is easy to understand - Brian's car looked pristine on the photos and Jamie's 911 was remarkably well presented today. Time will tell if MrD is right about lightweight spec, certainly I'm all for the promotion of white cars with buckets, Spyder alloys, PSE etc. Back home now from epic road trip. Spyder is a little salty but will soon clean up. Jamie's new P & J
Nice red Spyder
Some other red cars next door to OPC Edinburgh. Quarter of a million quid and swirl marks that would send me over the edge.
Let the 911 lead the way home
But not for long.
Paused to admire the views. Stunning.
Let's face it, 997 is the better motorway car!
Trip data. Note reset top speed button - not pressed since visiting Germany in the BMW in the summer. All that and 29.7 mpg, testament to the light weight of the Spyder.
The car at the Edinburgh dealers was a customers car ..it is a 10 plate with 10k miles on it and presently not for sale. Rob I believe your friend got a stunning car as the other sales person had a customer enquire about it but your friend got in first ...a bit like me and the Spyder .Hope your return trip went well and yes it was cold at least it stayed dry. Brian
Yes, apologies to flat6, they said the red Spyder was a customer's car. Jamie's new car is lovely and was well worth the journey. Back on thread - with us being there because Jamie had sold his Boxster and bought a gen2 997 from them, my eye was drawn to an Aqua Blue 997.2 Carrera S, a nice looking low mileage car with reasonable if not generous spec. A good salesman may have sold it to me. A great salesman *might* have advised me to never sell the Spyder and to save up for a 997 to run alongside it!
I'm the same. There's other cars i'd like to try out but I wouldn't want to give up the Spyder to try them & then have to re-enter the tough Spyder market & maybe not end up with a car I like as much as my current one.ORIGINAL: MrDemon I cannot sell mine now as I know I would not find another White Manual car with PCCB and no air con but with buckets, spyder wheels, PSE, Short shift, leather dash, sports mode.
It's the only way Rob - it's gotta be to run other cars alongside the Spyder. A 997 would make a perfect daily driver alongside the Spyder. They'd compliment each other as each one is everything the other isn't. Congrats Jamie! The new steed looks great and the shots on the journey look great too. Hats off to you for taking it straight to the Angelsey track day. No better sign to others that PCGB track days are about safe fun and not about launching your car over curbs in the pursuit of lap records. See you there!ORIGINAL: rob.kellock Yes, apologies to flat6, they said the red Spyder was a customer's car. Thought this may suit!! Lot 792 - 49 LAW - £1900 is available at DVLA unsold lots from todays auction.ORIGINAL: rob.kellock What a difference a digit makes! [link]https://www.regtransfers.co.uk/main/secureordering/orderregmark.asp?searchtype=general®no=KE11 OCK&index=0®price=24995&plateid=68031565[/link] Thirty grand with VAT. I bought that for £999 inc VAT and all fees the day it was released but the DVLA website was not fit for purpose that day and I have been grumpy about it ever since. Incidentally, I think I am somehow related to daro911, we share certain tastes!
Nice spot, thanks. Given the popularity of my profession, I may prefer to remain incognito!!

Rob Great photos and and what a day out! Surprised you did not correct the direction of the badge on the wheel centre of the Red spyder prior to taking photo! You could have had the roof down had you got the heated seats! I see your coming under pressure from other quarters re KE1OOCK!ORIGINAL: rob.kellock Nice spot, thanks. They sure are popping up for Spring shame the weather isn't too[&o] Seems a nice spec car carbon buckets with full leather option is very rare and expensive option []ORIGINAL: jdpef356 New to Market note PSM and no PSE?[&:] http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/dealer/614814
They had a £100k (near as dammit) brand new 991 with aerokit in the showroom with 2 bad crest to valve fails on the nearside! Fortunately, Jamie's new car was presented correctly!ORIGINAL: jdpef356 Rob Great photos and and what a day out! Will you still be around to see it though Robert?!!!!!!ORIGINAL: daro911 Food For Thought [] This stripped down light weight beauty is on sale today for £295k! Maybe our stripped down light weights will reach similar dizzy heights when they are in their 50's too []
I am sure i recognize that car it is owned by a member Tom Fitzimmons who owns Border Reveirs Cars .It has won many awards including Scottish PCGB Concurs2011/12 and carries the reg no 356A . When i first got my replica Speedster i took it to a PCGB event and the interest was amazing and was admired by everyone as it was truly a one off example i felt like a dog with two tails ..then Tom turned up in his original 356 my bubble was burst. I did get a award which was nice and the car went on to win loads of awards at various car shows whilst in my possession .Will the Spyder ever reach the same recognition who knows i hope so . Brian

Some of us are too young to cope with this morbid talk about what our cars may be worth in 50 years & whether some of you won't be with us to see it happen[&o] So here's a pleasant pic from page 38[] http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=719756&mpage=38 I skipped the border into a neighbouring region's club night on Wednesday evening and watched an amusing presentation from Mr Kellock & his comrades about their trip to Classic Le Mans[] A few more Spyder pics from that road trip would be welcomed Rob[]
