Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

There's a nice article in this month's Evo magazine involving the 987 Spyder. I won't post any spoilers at this point …...

Had these exhaust zip ties replaced with something more durable yesterday as the original ones had rusted through on both sides.

Is this the one which was recently sold on the Collecting Cars website?

Think he's after a quick (CGT free) profit.

Yep,

Looks to be the same one as on the Collecting Cars website:

Let's not get into semantics. I was assuming that the dealer is selling on a SOR basis for whoever (private individual) "won" the auction?

I know dealers pay corporation tax and vat.

This one has been there for 2 months now if it doesn't go soon I doubt it will fetch any premium at all as we head into the great unknown on the economy thanks to Covid19 and apparently BoJo's "oven ready" trade deal with the EU was only in his vivid imagination after all :ROFLMAO:

not even registered .

Brian its been for sale since March

Its an unregistered import not a UK car hence price here would be subject to VAT 20%

As it hasn't sold all summer long can't see it going anywhere soon especially at this price []

Another 987 Spyder has gone on the collecting cars website:

Bidding has not opened yet.

Found this 987 for sale at Mayfair Prestige last week. Three days later its gone. Not sure if it was SOR but had all the right bits ie buckets and Manual and of course that Rare colour for a 987 Red.

As summer now ends and we roll into September Autotrader currently has 16 - 718 Spyders all looking for new homes [&:]

The prices are all over the place and I think any premiums the early flippers may have made are well and truly over for now

Let's hope that this discourages them in future, puts an end to flippers' profits and perhaps means cars go only to true enthusiasts.

Sadly I think that’s unlikely. It’s all about making people with a high disposable income buy many Porsche’s which they sell back to the dealers who then try to make £15 to £20K on as far as I can see. It will only stop when they can’t get the deposits from these people.

in the US the dealers buy the halo cars off Porsche then invite anyone to buy them at List plua..... Different way to achieve the same thing but the dealers don’t get the turnover of sales before they allow someone to buy the halo car.
