B&M Short Shifter

I see that there is now a Tequipment short shifter available from OPCs.

Any idea how much?

Hi there

No idea, but this is made by B&M for Porsche so you may want to look at what other costs there are for the same thing B&M branded and not Porsche. Bet you its cheaper with a B&M logo...

I missed him today, he was "taking the German bosses back to the airport"[:D]

I'll try again tomorrow (but I'm imposing somewhat - no promises that he will even consider anything...)

Ok,

I've been in touch with Eibach. They are not averse to working a deal[;)]

Basically the MD is going to talk to his people, they have done deals before with magazines (911 & Porsche World to name one) and may want to deal through one of their normal suppliers, but at a discount.

Dialogue is open[:)]

Now, can everyone do me a favour and let me know REAL interest in this item? I want names and quantities so that we can give a better idea to Eibach of how many we are looking at getting. If the arrangement works out then maybe we can extend it to other Eibach items - Bilsten Shocks, OE spring sets, "handling kits" etc.

Over to you guys!

I want to get the B&M short shifter for my 03 Boxster S. I was contemplating buying one from a stockist in the States but if you are putting a UK group buy together then I'll definitely have one.

Please keep me posted

So that's three - plus 1 who emailed me direct...

Not really enough to make it attractive enough for Eibach to put a deal together with a distributor really is it?

To be honest I will feel rather embarrased to go to them and say we could only get five (if I include myself - which I wasn't going to as I only have the car another few months).

If anyone else has been holding back, then please don't. Let me know ASAP if this is worthwhile or shall I tell Eibach to forget it?

What a pity, I'm amazed so few people showed an interest, the short-shifter almost seems to be an essential upgrade in the States.

I have posted another message on boxa.net in the hope of drumming up some interest, but I don't hold out too much hope [:(]

Gentlemen I'm new to the 996, although this is my 3rd Porsche the last two being a 928 S4 and a 993 trip (s). Please count me in for a B&M Short Shifter...

Anyone know if this can be a DIY fit or is it a an hour at my local service centre

I'm intending on fitting it myself. Apparently the instructions are quite clear, but from what I hear it is worth searching the net for further tips to make the install go that much smoother (I've got a load of info from www.986board.com, as I have a Boxster, I would be happy to send it to you). General consensus is 1 to 2 hours to fit.

Thanks Luke, I would welcome that. How do we email on this message board?

Gentlemen how is the bulk order going on (who do we need to send the money to etc etc)

Just an update on this.

I have been back to Eibach and they are stil willing to put a deal together on this.

I have some info on prices - and it's good! But I need to discuss with Eibach and possibly the club, on how we actually distribute these.

Hope to have more news soon.
