Bits that DO work

Hang on we'll all just go and check our spare turbo, you know the one with nearly 500bhp that we built at the weekend!!
You didn't expect a sensible answer did you! In relative terms none of us (except maybe Paul) have enough power to snap a stick of celery but we're not jealous honest.

Believe it or not but I am serious??!! I've searched on here and on rennlist but have yet to come across a similar experience? Thats why I ask am I just the unlucky one!! I know having 400 plus bhp doesn't help matters but there are plenty of high power turbo's in the USA that should produce similar breakages no?
 
Sunroof works , cassette holder in one piece and not broken , digi clock
( so proud) [:D] cool aircon, lecie seats in fact everything I've tried.
Hadnt thought to check the cargo cover must do tomorrow [&:]
 
Oh I forgot to mention my dash light dimmer works too. Why this is necessary is anybody's guess when the dash lights are so lame anyway [:D]
 
my dash lights were fine :)

as were (still are but it's not mine now)
glovebox hinges & light
cassette box
sunroof
aircon
headlight washers
gearlever gaiter
heater & fan
boot struts (and seal)
bonnet struts and light

- just no clock or radio reception

 
Ed what happened man??? I hope the new owner will treat in the manner that she was accustomed to. Was it hard to part with her??
 
Didn't you see my finely crafted ad? [:D] Up for sale a week last saturday, sold on the wednesday, delivered yesterday.

The new owner already has his first track day booked [:D] It's gone to a good home, and I have asked for first option on the car if he ever sells. Keep an eye out for it in SE London.

I used the 944 for road and track - plans have changed now & we're keeping 2 road cars + a track car (shared with a mate). He didn't want a 944, so it looks likely to be an E36. Off to look at (and I hope buy) a 3.0 M3 tomorrow [:D]. I did miss the rawness of a stripped out track car, although the 944 went beautifully on track.

I had the car 4 years & enjoyed nearly all of it - to be honest I got a bit frustrated this year, with the headgasket letting go, and the time it took to chase down the vibration issue (finally fixed by changing the 4th and last wheelbearing!). I'm also very popular as my wife hated the 944! (I know...some people are very strange)


 
Fortunately I no longer have a wife to hate the 944 so box ticked there. Happily enough it's also the reason I have the 944 [:D] Thankfully my girlfriend loves her though. I have no plans to track mine in the foreseeable future, which is why I have called a halt to the HP mods for the also. Without doubt though the best car I ever owned but I think I might be in love now lol. E36 good choice I think I had a couple of E46s one of them a 330ci. Never got the chance to get too involved in it though before I drowned it in a big puddle and it got Cat D rite offed. Good car though. I always wanted an M3 in any variant you bugger!!!

You won't regret buying an E36 M3! Honestly I just enjoy my car more and more at the moment (especially with all this lovely wet weather ). I'd prefer to be in a 944 T any day for the experience but speaking purely as a drivers car nothing I've driven can match the 'pliable' nature of the E36 3.0

Once you start to learn to hold still rather than ease off the throttle when it breaks traction you'll quickly discover that you can literally make it do whatever you want. In the wet little can match its pace, simply because the power delivery is so linear and it's so comfortable to drive straying the limit of adhesion. You can drive corner after corner at 100% where you'd be driving at 90% in any other car for fear of breaking traction at the wrong time and losing control or losing time. The only thing I don't like is the way you feel the weight under braking. My car is always skidding and chirping the inside front wheel as you break and start to turn in to a corner. Here the 944 has a lot more confidence. Off the line I'd love to know what gives the M such traction?! My 944 T felt like it was ice skating off the line in comparison when it's wet!

Anyway sorry to get off topic. Good luck and if you need any repair works doing OSC Motorsport in Daventry is worth travelling to use. He is fabulous and applies his labour rate in a way that makes him cost effective over using garages you offer rates £20per hour cheaper.

When I took my car in to have the Vanos rebuilt (£300 rather than £2500 for a new unit from BMW) and a knocking noise from the suspension looked at he checked the shims on all the valves, cleaned the engine, set the timing and even oiled my door hinge and set the clock without asking or charging! Also diagnosed correctly and replaced the anti roll bar links first time so I didn't end up replacing other items unnecessarily to find it.
