Dear all,

Before I make the final decision between the two cars I'm looking at I just thought I'd ask..

Is there anyone out there currently thinking of selling a black turbo with the sports seats in v.nice condition and with a few engine mods? (ideally maf, nicer turbo, injectors and boost enhancer etc) if there is I have a pocket full of dollers and its burning a hole fast! Please contact me for an easy sale otherwise I'm probably going to be driving a lovely but standard silver one.

Regards,

Ben

Ben, my '89 model (registered '88) metallic satin black 250 turbo is sat in the garage not being used much at the moment. Sadly my company is in administration and as a result redundancy could be looming soon. If it happens I think the 944 may have to go. Not something I'm delighted about but life goes on.

She's pretty much standard apart from a boost enhancer.
Had a 993 dump valve, cat2 toad immobiliser, cam belt, balance belt, alternator belt, ps belt, cam and balance belt tensioners, water pump, thermostat, front engine oil seals plus other bit by Jon Mitchell in July '07 before I bought her. Since then she's been serviced twice, 4 wheel geometry, boost enhancer, various other minor cosmetic jobs, gearbox linkage, engine mount, ball joint, full fluids change, new mats, sunroof cogs/clutch adjustment, - the usual niggly things put right, new bonnet/boot release struts etc, new battery, new windscreen, aftermarket steering wheel (original supplied), seats treated to liquid leather - look great no scuffs (SPORT seats), remote central locking.

Currently on conti sports (which I hate) but have lots of tread. Original 16" CS wheels - refurbed to ok standard in the past. Lot's and lot's of old bills with details of clutch replacement etc. New Blaupunkt stereo with bluetooth (inc wired mic in the A'pillar - hardly noticeable) and USB port (in glovebox) fitted for your USB stick. New dash fitted (old one had cracked) - no phone holes in the new dash. Completely black interior with black leather sports seats + 10 speaker pack. Clear side repeaters, clear front indicators etc.

106k miles (has had a speedo change in the past - documented in service book, real mileage is a few k more). I'm tracking MPG and can get 33 or 18 depending on how it's driven.

Downsides - lacquer peel on front bumper/badge panel, one front foglight lens cracked, caliper plate lift evident but all disks/pads currently ok - not screeching, boot carpet marked due to battery spill while in transit (was taking the old one to the tip - bloody thing), slight drop on drivers door but have re-aligned hinges so hardly noticeable, minor burn mark on rear passenger seat (have got leather kit to repair), air con doesn't work!

I guess at present - I'm open to sensible offers. Oh and sills look ok.

Does it have an LSD? Plus any interior pics?

I like that other one Paul.. it is what I had in mind but the replacement engine bothers me slightly and I think he wants too much for it! Just not quite nice enough to warrant that kind of money. It doesn't look anything really special.

LSD - yes it does. Interior shots - not since I've owned it which is unusual for me. Let me see what I can put together later but don't expect much as the weather isn't great here.

Glad I asked! Thats quite a nice one. Could you possibly email me a number so we could have a chat?

Damon you car looks very nice - sell everything else first. Everything. Other stuff can be replaced, really nice Turbos are hard to come by.

Lee (Lemon) on here is possibly selling his too, although blue rather than black.

Turbo S and he has spent a small fortune on it to make it one of the nicest examples in the UK.

Why cheers Nick [:D] Just been out in it today and just cleaned and dried it and tucked it back up in the garage.

I am finding it hard saying, "YES ITS FOR SALE" though......

Buy your old one back, everything will seem a bit tame in comparison.

Wish I could Paul.. still maybe one day but for now and in my current situation I don't want a car that needs anything doing to it! Putting such amazing internals into BBU I unfortunately cursed it into I long life of forever being tempted to replace everything around it to try and match the levels its capable of and justify its potential.

I accept that anything I buy will feel a bit lacking in the trouser compartment to the big 3250cc monster but what I need right now is a nice lightly breathed on car that I can just get in and drive without feeling the need to throw big money into it!

It seems I certaintly picked an amazing time to ask! I have been literally flooded with really nice examples (I'd like to buy them all just to be sure and then sell the ones I didn't like!) but at the moment unless things turn bad on seeing the car in the flesh, I am in fairly serious discussions with the owner of the ex RPM car. Although more than I'd have 'liked' to spend on the car, he has the right answers to all of my questions and it seems the most likely example to safisfy my needs without need for further enhancement.

With so many excellent examples available (got to admit I'm tempted by 'suffolk944's car' as its one I know the history and also others which represent extremely good value for money are being offered here so..) I'm holding onto my dosh very tightly until I am entirely satisfied. Whatever the outcome of this first veiwing I will report back and I assure you I will be back in a worthy 44T within the next 2weeks![:)]

Looks like you've picked a good time to buy Ben, are you looking for a long term prospect or a car to have some fun with ?, if it's the former I'd go for one of the last cars in the best condition I could find, you can always add the toys yourself later.

Paul.

Has it got to be black ?, there's an amazing red car for sale that maybe you could haggle on.[;)]

I just wan't something I can drive without feeeling the need to do anything more to it, drive hard without feeling quilty about and a car that someone else has spent the money on for a change so that for once I can reep the benefit of someone else's hard work rather than the other way around! (oh and it has to be faster than Edd's Nismo spec GTR skyline that he's always boasting is now quicker than my Z4M since he fettled it a bit! Little things[&:])

Regards,

Ben

Well there is a really nice Baltic Blue one that doesnt need anything doing to it and it has been 'breathed on', though a refurbish of the wheels sometime wouldnt be amiss. Just went to post the link from Piston heads and its disappeared! Oh well its in the classifieds here if interested.

Does that mean you had the 3.2 engine built without upgrading the rest of the car (shocks, brakes, etc)?

there's a lot more to upgrade than the shocks and brakes when you run that kind of unit! Its all the little things, oil catch cans, fuel lines, surge tanks, dry sump etc that suddenly becomes a good idea when you take a car to that level of tune. Brakes/suspension are small fry.

Well, you are preaching a convert.
It just seems a bit odd to me that you sold your previous car with that monster engine only to find yourself now about spending on buying another car what your old car would have needed to be possibly one of the best 944 turbo around.
