Blue or silver?

ORIGINAL: Fen

...and with the unilluminated section painted blue. I wanted to see if the bit of indicator left would look too small:

it looks too small. silver, as Dr Porsche intended. Besides, you like a little controversy and blue is overwhelmingly the popular choice.

Fen, I considered getting me wheel centres painted black or red to go with the guards red car. However I am convinced now that this is a passing fad. Porsche and the marques followers always seem a bit slow to pick up on trends and this trend is already starting to look old hat on other cars. For example when was the last time you have seen a new standard lambo with 2 colours or more wheels? I have a picture somewhere of a diablo SV from several years ago with black wheel centres, and this car may have been one of the catalysts for the trend. Silver cup 1 wheels look great on a 964 anyway. I would remove the graphic as well but thats just my taste. I don't like model designation graphics.

I take your point, though Porsche were there with black centred Fuchs (optionally body coloured) from the late 60's.

I fitted the graphic and I like it. I felt the car looked like nothing without it; too plain. In fact it's evil in this pic with the Bogster alloys and sitting at a true 4x4 ride height:

Could never understand the stock ride height on the 964 model. It always looks odd IMHO, but OTOH lowered 964's seem to look great without any other additions, even dare I say it when wearing D90's (reminds me now of the special lightweight ones made by Jurgen Barth's lot)

I prefer silver meself [8|][8|] but if pressed I think blue centres with silver rims would look ok or anthracite always looks good.

You could always sell me the cup 1`s if you`re not happy with them [:D]

I did this yesterday to see what my track wheels will look like on it. I don't like it personally:

you have way too much time on your hands! bring it to the Cotswold rally and join me in cocking up the 944 register numbers. (sorry lads)

I like the blue wheels with the lights as they are or you could go for clear lights at the back and nice big chromed wheels like a little boy racer would dream of [:'(]

Fen ,
Without HESITATION... BLUE m8 .
In fact seeing yours like that gives me an idea....????????????????

BLUE,,, BLUE defo.....

Blue centres, leave the indicatrs as they are. Remeber the blue should be a bit richer than that, and will look even better. I might get a chance to tweek it for you tomorrow. [;)]

The car is looking great now, compared to how it looked when you got it.

Be really different and get Richard to make you some blue indicators [:D] [:D] [:D] [:D] [:D] [:D]

Rick why don't you make Fen some wheel shaped logos? Then Fen can stick them on and change colour to suit his moods [:D][:D]

Fen, you should ditch the cup 1's and refit the Boxster twists[:D]

I don't think the anthricite coloured wheels look good against the Blue. They'd look good on a red car though. The Blue with the polished rimdefinately looks the biz. I like the Carrera graphic just where it is. If you moved it up to line up with the indictors it's look too high up the door. With it lower it makes the car look lower and more aggressive.

It's a lovely motor by the way. With recently drooling over Des's 964RS at Bedford and seeing your car on this thread i'm really hankering after a 964, or maybe even a 3.2 carrera. My wife returns to work in July after maternity leave and the plan 'is' for me to inherit the Focus as a 2nd car and for her to buy another car. I think I might have to enter into negotiations for her to keep the focus and for us to get a niceish 3.2 carrera or a 964. I'd keep the 944 as the fun track/hobby car and keep the 911 standard(ish) as a daily runner. The wife will be fine in the Focus!! Unfortunately I rate my chances somewhere between slim and sweet FA!!

Holy thread resurrection Batman!

To close the loop the decision was blue and I really liked it
