Bluto is back!!!!

Ahh Vic life moves on you have been lucky , like myself to have owned and raced some of Porsches finest , the memories are worth everything as you know money comes and goes but doing always stays in your head....
As to race engine costs yes we run 2 993 GT2R , and have won many racses outright over a 3 years period with only 1 rebuild and no issues .
We hope to be out in the revival race with the Silver car ( Pritine one of 2 RHD factory built cars with Hollinger sequential box ) in the Revival race supporting the Blachpain endurance series on the 2 of June at silverstone.
Yes Vic the memories are yours forever , like taking the chequered flag at Spa in the rain !!
Peter

Good luck Pedro

I am off to Spa 2 weeks today in a black kettle !

Not quite past it yet .......................

Vic, driving the Gt2 in the Porsche parade at Brands in '05 (don't think it was '04?), must be quite a memory, you took everyone! [:D]

I remember watching the cars go round, thinking...."What's he doing???!!!" [:D]

Eoin only said dont past Dickie Attwood ................................i did nt !

Still bets week end PCGB EVER DID IMO!

I recall......that was the point where you very quickly dived into the pit lane, otherwise you would have flown past him !!! [:D]

At least we have some great memories of superb PCGB events, in it's heyday. [;)]

I reckon vis will be wurf 300 quid some day...........

Vic, just to make you feel better.......not

Crikey!.....That's enough £££, certainly enough to put it in the garage queen, take it for a day out to the castle once a year category.

That starts to make the other 993 M003 cars appear good value! [8D]

Vic, wish i'd bought it rather than Ernie a few years ago - thats one only to let go when passing down to the children ! what else would u spend 300 quid on ? can't think of anything as desirable as 'bluto' - Shag

Reread GT purely Porsche article from April 2006. Compared RHD 993GT2 with Carrera GT. At the time GT2s were about 110K to 125K, article speculated if GT2s could ever be worth as much as more common Carrera GT. Seems they were wrong GT2 Clubsport now more expensive than a lot of Carrera GTs. Rarity of older supercar v bespoke more common modern supercar tough choice. Seems rarity wins!

Having had an eye on prices and cars over recent years, I recall when a Gt2 CS was available for around £80k approx 7 years ago....(stupidly I never liked wide bodies or turbo's...just not Leichtbau...is it??? [;)] )

I remember them jumping through £100k...seemingly missing £150k and then leaping to £200k+

To most of us this might appear a little crazy,,,,, then again,,,, for a moment consider the "rivals".

A Ferrari F40, a commemorative road car of which they (mass) produced 1315 examples appears to be worth >£400k.

On that basis, with the rarity and actual rather than implied racing pedigree of the Gt2, especially in uber rare M003 spec, it doesn't look so far out of the running?

I know which one I would sooner own.

VERY KIND WORDS ALL OF U ,I ENJOYED IT ALL AS MUCH AS U DID!

Did nt actually go out thinking will i blow this  up but cost for full rebuild [ all my own fault as most know ]was megga!

Although Bluto only abt 480bhp with bigger turbos much quicker than Audi rs blue and fair bit lighter plus 380 mm fronts instilled much confidence after say 5 laps at the end of The Lavant!

Character of the 2 quite different  ..............fun immeasurable !

A great car indeed...passenger ride for me at Oulton. Power seemed very linear.

Such a great car...

Much to my own surprise, somehow I think I actually prefer the Audi RS blue GT2 Vic owned.

Any preference Vic from the point of ownership and running costs or does the rarity of the clubbie sway it for you?

That is almost greedy [:)]

These are Steve's great pics Vic [:D][:D]

I have to assume you would keep your 993RS as well then for that statement to make any sense? [:)]

One can only dream..... F40 posters adorned my room during my Uni years still love it to bits. If I can own the F40 I will gladly release my RS [;)]

Hmmm just seen that myself .....................never knew the exhaust was anything special...... ..it passed 105 db !
