Me too, hand delivered this evening, only 1 mile away Rod. Thanks for organising.
Sure enough there it was - never heard it over the snores from the guard dogs :ROFLMAO:

Look forward to seeing you there, if not around locally before!!

Evening Ian

What are you running? I too am only a mile or two from Rods house and it's good to know who is local on the Porsche scene.

Regards Chris

Joining instructions will be issued shortly, but drivers briefing (mandatory) will be at 8.15 a.m., with a view to the sighting laps starting at 8.45.

Rod

Hello Chris,

Sorry, I've only just spotted your post/question. I'll be in my GT4, how about you? I'm hoping for a warm, dry day to help learn the car.

See you there,

Ian.

Morning Ian

I'll be in my 993 c4, I look forward to seeing your GT4.

I too am hoping for a warm dry day, but either way it should be great fun.

Ian, was that you in the White GT4 in Belton today?

Hi Chris,

No, mine's red. Wonder who's that is?

My neighbour turned up in an 11 plate Boxster Spyder yesterday. Lovely 5k mile job. Black, pdk, buckets....Won't be tracking it, though.

If the weather stays like this your 993 C4 will be perfect for Blyton. Look forward to seeing it, they are not a common site these days.

Ian

Hi Ian

I'll keep my eyes open for a red one then. The white one must have been passing through.

Your neighbors spyder sounds nice, exactly the thing for a bimble around a track!!

My 993 is itching for a track session, it's a lovely thing and I would hate to damage it but I really can't be too precious, it's a shame to leave it in the garage to gather dust and value!! The best value for me is driving it as it was designed, the newer stuff will crucify it but the sound and the smell and the ability to work every gear, without running out of road just does it for me.

Your GT4 will be fantastic around Blyton, roll on the 20th.

p.s I can't trash mine as I'm off over the Pyrenees in June for a road trip into France for the football European championships, while my wife flies in for a holiday, I haven't told her about the footy yet!!

Chris

Chris, you'll be 'safe as houses' at Blyton. Very safe circuit with loads of run- off. The format for the day is 'sessioned' with drivers being set-off at intervals and just 5 or 6 on track at once so it doesn't get crowded.

I know what you mean about the older cars, did Blyton in a 964 last year.

I suspect lots of us on here have similar relationships with our wives, plenty of last-minute information being released. Which way are you travelling to the Pyrenees?

Ian, I'm traveling to Portmouth then sailing to Bilbao, just in time for a few hours drive before my first night stopover around Jaca, and the England - Wales game! I'm staying on the Spanish side and taking the n260 under Andorra before crossing the national park, into France, and up to Perpignan.

It should put me and the little car through our paces.

Any recommendations for track day insurance, I put mine and my partners details into one company and although the premium (£178) didn't seem to bad, the excess was £2500.

I suppose if I was to totally smash the car into a million pieces its worth it but £2700 would fix most bumps, in fact as long as any damage was under £5200 it would make sense to not have the insurance ?

Obviously I do want insurance but is £2500 excess the norm?

Chris - sounds great, I went the other way as far as Perpignan, via the Alps and then trips in to the Pyrenees. Loved it, driving in France is really good as you probably Know. Great car to do it in assuming you've got air-con.

Superjoe - 10% excess for trackdays is the norm in my experience. Luckily you are unlikely to have to cash-in your insurance at Blyton, it's pretty safe.

Hopefully I'll be popping down for a look-see on the day and to say hello......I've not found a replacement for the RS and so it may be a bitter sweet experience! Fingers crossed for a nice dry day for everyone.

Note to self.......delete my sig. photo
