Not your traditional Booze cruise obviously[;)], but a tour of Northern France taking in some of the stunning scenery so close to our doorstep.
On Saturday 30th leaving Calais after a 9.50am tunnel the route is only 50 miles into France and about 1.5 hours of enjoying the empty roads.
We also drive through the Vallee de la Course, offering a wonderful tree lined route to follow.

This tour offers a great opportunity for those that have never sampled driving abroad in your Porsche a chance to have a safe and gentle taster..
Talking of tasting, upon arrival at the town the cars can be safely parked away giving you the afternoon to enjoy the shops and sights of Montreuil- sur-Mer.
Its a walled town complete with Citadel offering some great views and walks. http://www.informationfrance.com/montreuil-sur-mer.php

Late afternoon we will regroup for the Booze part of the day, where we have organised a wine tasting... It will consist of 5 good wines for only 10euros per person.
Following this is our group evening meal at the hotel. http://www.hermitage-montreuil.com/indexuk.htm
Porsche club have used the hotel before and a friend has given it the thumbs up [:)] bookings should be available from this weekend.

They currently have a special Autumn deal on at 85euros for a room including Breakfast, we are trying to arrange a package cost to include dinner - which I will update you when they do confirm a cost.

Sunday will consist of a late morning departure leaving East across France to some visitor attractions and historic monuments, these will include the V2 rocket base near St Omer (La capoule) and then onwards to another wonderful city of Ypres to enjoy the chocolate shops and sights. We will circle the city and enter via the Menin Gate monument. http://www.greatwar.co.uk/ypres-salient/memorial-menin-gate.htm

This route across is approx 2 hours + stops, leaving plenty of time for lunch and sight seeing.
With then only a 1 hour drive back to Calais for a late afternoon 16.50 train to bring us back home.
Tunnel costs are at the moment showing as £63 return.

* Chocolate factory has confirmed that can have the guided tour and make purchases, we will be stopping enroute on the Saturday.

Yes the Chocolate Factory is a must in France ......

Public tours around Chocolats de Beussent seem to finish at the end of August - (if that's the factory being suggested). [8|]
