Booze cruise 30/10/10

Gary -Mrs Melv and me planning a long weekend at Montreuil-sur-Mer, may join you from the visit to the vineyard Sat afternoon if u think that will work out, then as per your itinary. Wot dya think????

..................Not in Porker but her Ladyships Merc SLK if that OK....[&:]

Just to add that I have converted Gary's google maps locations to geographic co ordinates in degrees, minutes, seconds which I have found is the easiest way of programming a porsche sat nav.

If you use Stopovers in PCM3 you can program the whole route as a single tour by making 'E' 'the destination and adding the previous four destinations (A, B, C and D) as stopovers.

Press the option button or touch the tab of the same name in the header, Select "Adv. destination input" > "Geo. coordinates". and input the co ordinates as listed below :

N E
A 50° 56' 2" 1° 50' 17"
B 50° 47' 20" 1° 53' 0"
C 50° 42' 55" 1° 48' 42"
D 50° 36' 20" 1° 49' 36"
E 50° 27' 55" 1° 45' 50"

A good idea to have the route programmed in the Sat Nav as it is occasionally possible to lose the leader on these drives...........[:D][:D][:D]

From memory - On PCM2 I think they call it 'Tour Planning' and you can string together a series of destinations which you already have saved (A,B,C etc)

You can store the individual destinations entering them as co ordinates.

There you are Paul - it was in the destructions all along! You've now got 7 weeks to sort it all that lot out!![:D][:D]

I use route planning for all of the drives, plus a bit of map reading and a general idea of where I want to be heading....[:)]
Paul I use place names or more often the pointer dropped on the road exiting the town...
I used to do the towns but the PCM usually times it perfect to say you have reached your stopover- now plotting your route [&:]!!!

I have been known to see a wiggly road on my PCM display and head in that direction [;)]

In a reverse of the usual Porsche philosophy of newer = better, it looks like PCM2 is better than PCM3 with respect to touring routes.

PCM3 only allows you 1 destination and 4 stopovers per tour - maximum of 5 points
PCM2 allows you up to 8 points on your tour.

The trick is to try and force the thing to take the exact route which you have already planned using google maps by placing the points in locations where there is no shorter alternative. More points gives more flexibility to do this.
