Boxster drivers...why dont you wave?

In and around Peterborough I get waves. Around Chelmsford I don't. What happens when one crosses the Cambridgeshire/Essex border exactly?

This is my first post, actually its my first Porsche aswell,
Stumbled across it last Wednesday fell in love, paid a deposit and picked it up last Friday so I have had my Boxster exactly one week.
I have passed 3 other Boxster so far. I didn't know if there was any etiquette involved so waved to see what would happen. Having had a beetle and westfield in the past and everyone waves, Westfield drivers actually stop for a chat!

Anyway I digress, back to Porsche
The black one (2007) waved as if caught by suprise at seeing another one in the village, now waves everytime we pass, the driver is in his 40s.
The silver one (2005) with a youngish couple (30s) in it didn't wave (actually I saw it again about 30 minutes later and he waved first, but the woman was no longer in it) obviously not his wife and he was trying to impress [;)].
The other silver one (????) didn't wave - female.

Might have to have a big flag above the car saying "I wave to other Porsche drivers"
Love the car, best choice I ever made.

I would love to say just two words - 'No Comment' [;)]

hehe when I used to ride around in the boxster when I got it in 1999 some 10 years ago nobody had one, so when I saw someone on the road the "boxster wave" was given and recieved.
Now though there are many owners and the "porsche wave" is not known by drivers.
If your after a wave get a 911 :)
Just a thought.

I still have my little boxster though, nice looking car even now.

Here on the South Coast [8D], nobody ever seems to wave.
When I drove a 997, it actually felt better to keep your head down rather than risk road rage from one of those fat property developers in their Cayennes []!
However, now I'm a 'recessionista' with just a 'poor mans Porsche' I thought I would give it a try.
Must be beginners luck but it made my day this morning when I waved at a 996 crossing the lights and got a huge wave and big smile from the woman driving it.
Way to go ![:D]

Oh soddin hell ... seems I'm joining a right miserable lot of non-waving owners ... well as and when I FINALLY get mine, I'll wave at anyone and everyone so be on the look out for mine around Manchester/Sheffield ...

Other VX220/Elise owners always wave at me in mine - looks like we've got some teaching to do with some of these boring Porsche people [;)]

Absolutely - I always wave. The return rate is low however - whether Boxster or other Porsche [&o]
When I had an X1/9 everybody waved [:)]

Between fixing my lippy, changing the CD AND shoving a dummy back in the babies mouth, I don't have time to wave[:D]

LOL, single marque waving always makes me laugh. I mean it's not like it's a rare car or anything, surely?

I always wave or flash headlights at a fellow Boxster owner if I am out in the Box .. In the Cayenne I never did .. no one EVER returned a "hello"

My Other car is a Audi C6 RS6 .. every RS6 owner pretty much acknowledges another .. in Berkshire there are like 5 of us and I think we all "know" each other .. lol
