Calke Abbey event - 8th Sept

This event coming soon... of course our R10 meet is the next day (Sunday), but you can come to that too, if you like![:)][:D]

Hi Paul.

Count me in as well please.

I have a spare seat, so if anyone is short of transport you are welcome to jump in.

More the merrier![:D] We might go on the motorway after all, as the other (A5) way might be a bit awkward with up to 10 cars, though I expect you should all research the route too (don't want anyone getting lost!)[;)] Of course, you're free to go which way you like! Don't have SatNav myself, but know the way... the essential thing to know is that you approach via the village of Ticknall to the north of Calke Abbey, i.e. this is the only way in.

This event now looking unlikely for me having worn out my front pads and tyres at Donington on Friday!

Chris.

You silly billy, Chris[:)] (hope you had fun wearing them out, though[:D]) Shame if you can't make it.

I most certainly did. With help from my fellow racer Rebecca Jackson, I shaved over 2 seconds off my lap time. And about 2mm off my front tyres! Chuffin understeer!

It's in the diary and car is all ready for a family reunion. Has the departure point from R10 been decided and what are the timings?

Take a look at the 15th posting on THIS thread... (8am latest departure from OPC Silverstone).
We'll all be starting from the OPC, but as long as you know the route we'll not be keeping to a specific convoy as such.[;)] Just make sure you know how to get there!
Look forward to seeing y'all[:D]

Hi, Steve.
We're coming off at junction 23A, M1 (should be there by about 9am-ish), so we could meet you at the Services and you could take us in from there, perhaps?

Hi Guys,

Caz and I have just come back from a little drive to, and also through Calke Abbey.

Stunning grounds and some GREAT picture opportunites [;)]

We do however think that it would be better to do this, as the British Super Bikes are at Donnington, and queues are expeceted.....

We came back a different way and were home in 12 minutes having driven through some lovely twisty turny countrylanes. The other route took 30 minutes, and will no doubt be congested with the Donny Park traffic.

New Proposal
Come off at JUNCTION 22, and meet us at the services and we can take you in from there.................

Hows does that sound??

Steve and Caz

Hi Steve
Seems like a plan, but not sure of meeting point services J22? do you mean Leicester services?
Paul & all
My thoughts take A5 ,Weedon, Kilsby Join the M1 at J18 only one set of lights at Weedon so we should be able to stick together. then just need to confirm meeting point with Steve?
