Calke Abbey event - 8th Sept

Thanks Steve (particularly for the bikes warning) and Andy...

So, the revision is that we will meet Steve and Caz at Junction 22 Services at around 9-ish (whether we get there via the A5 or M1 will be up to the people initially meeting at OPC Silverstone).
Steve can take us in from there.

Steve,

Good spot on the Donnington event.

I may have to travel up a little later due to other commitments. I like your idea of coming off the motorway at J22, would it be possible to give an indication or your suggested route?

John - have emailed you the route I think it will probably be... not verified by Steve though, yet[;)]

Hello Paul

I have been a member for a while now however in truth have not got involved yet, to the point where i have only just registered to this Forum.

I intend to come to Calke Abbey with my son and have registered my Porsche for this event with the club.

I noticed in the Porsche Post that you plan to meet at Porsche Centre Silverstone tommorrow (7:45am) and travel up with others, is that still the case as we would like to join you?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Best regards

Yes, we're meeting at OPC Silverstone at 7.45 for an 8am departure.
What colour is your car?

You're very welcome to join us that time - see you there!

Yes, off at JCT 22................

There is a BP when you come off, but dont take the first turning its the next one then the turning its after about 50 yards so be careful!

Will be taking the A511 to Ashby De La Zouch

Straight on at the M42 roundabout (A511), and then 3rd exit at next roundabout (B587)- signposted Calke Abbey on brown signs from here!

Great to hear from you, Steve - really look forward to seeing you both tomorrow.
Had sussed the A511, but saw that you can go further along the A511 to the next roundabout, taking the B5006 to Ticknall (looks more direct?)... but if you've already driven the other route, fair enough[:)]

Anyway, see you at J22, M1 at 9-ish[;)]

Yeah think that's probably the way we came back, to be fair was admiring the twisty turny roads...........

Either or though will be good fun. Really looking forward to it

See you all tomorrow
