Castle Combe June 29, 911 50th

Castle Combe June 29

If you sent us payment for the tickets and have not received them yet that is because Castle Combe only gave us half the amount and the rest have been lost in the post.

We now have the entrance tickets but Elaine or myself will have to meet you at the gate.

You need the competitors entrance gate and that is on the main road. If you call when you are nearly there one of us will meet you at the gate.

We will be there from 08.00 and have breakfast meal vouchers to be used up to 09.00. A bacon or sausage bap plus tea or coffee for £3.50 in the Tavern next to our stand.
With no rain forecast for Saturday it is looking good.

Big thanks to Stuart and Elaine for a lovely day, great atmosphere with all the porsche's on the track. A great collection of amazing cars.

That was a fantastic day and we had well over 50 Porsches on the stand.

The gazebo to shelter from the SUN and the refreshments seemed to be appreciated by all our members.

The parade session was supposed to be two abreast around 40 MPH, well that went out the window and I had recorded speeds of over 90, There were lots of smiling faces after that and a few people realising what it is like to drive a Porsche around a race circuit.

Many thanks to everyone that turned up to help make this a memorable day and it is days like this that make the organising worth wile.

Nice video Stuart.............an interesting (very close) comparison for me to this lap in my Impreza from a couple of years ago. I have since upgraded the ARBs at both ends, new dampers and also have some list 1B tyres. Not done any flying laps in this config....only standing start events ie sprints. Your max and apex speeds are near identical...hence lap times are within a second!

Ade,
That is pretty much the same, looked well under control.
Combe is a lovely circuit but you just have to forget how close you are to the wall most of the time
