FEN
Cheers for the info....

Ill see what i can do regarding the 968 indicators.......
Do you know what the cost was for them .??????

Joakim said "about the same as factory 993 indicators". No idea how much that is or why there is a correlation (although I know some places sell 993 ones for the 968 and they don't fit properly). Send him a mail from the link on his website and he'll get back to you, albeit slowly in my experience.

FEN - As others have said, many thanks for all your efforts on this one; received my lenses this morning [:)] (still waiting for bulbs []).

On a related point, do I have to remove my wheel-arch liners to change my side repeaters?

No, they are held on by a little tab. Just slide the repeater towards the rear of the car and pull off. A lot will have the tabs broken off so are held on by double sided sticky tape (like mine [;)])

oh cool, thanks Paul; I was worried the operation was going to be significantly more difficult than on my archliner-less 924

i have arrived late to the party, Although i must say THANK YOU Fen i have my rear lenses sat right next to me and if it wasnt late i would be out fitting as we speak, the wife dragged me off for the weekend so only just got back and after viewing the pitures im itching, ill get the cream in the moring from the docs[;)]

But just as a matter of interest was it difficult to fit the rears ??? ps your car looks the muts nuts[:D]

I haven't done my rears yet; I only did the fronts as a quick break from decorating. Anyone else fitted rears yet?

One of my side repeaters on the cab was held on with Blu-Tac - it was only temporary but it lasted months so never got replaced.

oh in my hast i thought the car in the pictures where of your car Fen, oh so when i fit them tommorrow i will let you know

Out of interest, what are people planning on using to fix rear lenses?

Joakim's site mentions both Sikaflex and two part epoxy.

I haven't decided although an epoxy sounds better than anything flexible (which Sikaflex is I believe) to me. The orange ones are stuck with pretty hard adhesive anyway.

I've been thinking about the whole adhesive thing as well, it needs to be something that dries clear with no whitening (the difference is visible in the various pics floating about). I'm a bit stuck to be honest; Silvaflex only seems to come in large quantities. I've seen something called 3M Plastic & Emblem Adhesive that sounds like it would do the trick, but it only seems to be available in the US [&:]. I don't really know very much about sticky stuff. Time to sit back and see how the 'early adopters' get on I think...

Just come in from re-lensing Beaky. Very subtle it looks too.

Did anyone else have problems with their bulbs? Mine didn't fit as the pips on the bulb shaft weren't in line, as the originals were, but off of centre by about 10 deg.

I seem to remember Tony had a simillar problem and I did as he did (IIRC) and got a file to one of the pips.

It all works now and looks pretty fine - Bit of a bummer though, I now have to repaint the indicators an my model of Beaky [:)]

just got back in from fitting the rear light lenses. took alittle time messing around but there in, i couldn't really get the old ones off so i had to smash them off, the down side is i have cut my fingers to shreds, i think it was the cold as i couldnt really feal my finger tips. Anyway the glue i have used is J B Weld, not to sure weather its good or not, its a resin based glue and when mixed is a light grey colour but i says it's completely water proof and will last for upto 25 years and is recommended for this type of job - well we will see, it takes 18 hours to fully cure. The overall effect i think is much better than the orange originals so im very happy and it now finishes the car off, well as far as the lights go anyway.

Takes years off it Marc.

My bulbs didn't fit either John but I used the slightly less technical "force them in" method [8D]

Blimey - we have all been busy today [:D]

<start of hijack> Not to be left out, I've been painting my new brake disk hubs silver (before they go brown) <end of hijack>
