The Cheddar Gorge drive and dine taking place on the 29th August.
This is to tie up with the Castle Combe event and register Concour on the Bank holiday monday that follows on the 30th
It is a Bank holiday Sunday, so the pace will possibly be a bit slower than usual with the tourist location and holiday traffic, this has been worked into a pretty route taking in the sights (and aural delights) as we convoy through the Cheddar Gorge.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cheddar_Gorge

The plan is to meet just off the M5 towards North Petherton for midday time. http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=51.104546,-2.995598&daddr=&geocode=&hl=en&mra=ltm&dirflg=w&sll=51.104566,-2.99562&sspn=0.004615,0.013894&ie=UTF8&ll=51.104553,-2.995588&spn=0.004615,0.013894&z=17
A short drive towards and through the Cheddar Gorge prior to stopping for a delightful lunchtime pub, at the start of the water flow of the Wookie Caverns [;)]
From there we meander cross country to the outskirts of Bath, where we can take a short coffee stop prior to continuing on some quicker roads towards Castle Combe and then onto the suggested hotel for those stopping overnight (these hotel details are available form me- (top secret and all that [;)])
The drive is shorter than our normal drives but does offer a chance to meet up and socialise.
The drive in total is 2.5hours and 75 miles in distance (at the moment)

Could be up for a little cheese and wine. [:)]

Is it a decent enough hotel - and does it have Remy? [8|]

Regards,

Clive

I think its safer to take our own Remy [;)]
Nice simple hotel in a quiet location, I'll send you the link via email..

They have ample parking along with coffee and snacks available all day..
I did think about ending at one of the nice country parks in the vicinity but being a Bank holiday they could be busy (with kids) and the end point is ideal for access back onto the M4 for the unsocial lot..... [;)]

Castle Combe is about 5-10 minutes away the next morning....

Aha, the Chippenham East Travelodge then?[:D] Anyway, I thought the "unsocial lot" would be dining with you but just not overnighting at the hotel?[;)]
