Clear indicator lenses (all models) - group buy

That 'GTR' kit they do is truly awful [:'(][:'(][:'(]

If they wanted to do a Le Mans look-a-like they should have made it look-a-like and not added their own extra bits from a Max Power shop []

Anyone got a spare £9000 and a petrol can?

I have responded to Joakim on the 924 forum, but the numbers we had reached were:

13 pairs of S2/Turbo fronts (plus a single lens if possible - guess who...)
5 pairs of 924/944 lux fronts
13 pairs of rears

Any further takers let me know and we can see what we can coordinate. I can supply an alternative email address if required so Joakim can mail me.

Fen,
I responded fairly early on, but in case you need me to confirm what I'm after...
A pair of Lux fronts and a pair of rears would be great.
Thanks,

Noted, thanks.

I'll send out emails over the weekend to check with everyone else that their order still stands.

This message will be cross posted on Titanic and PCGB Forum.

I'm a little later than intended but I have just sent final figures off to Joakim. I have also asked for prices for bulbs, if he can get them.

This is the first group buy I have organised. Though slightly uneasy what I propose is that I get the order sent to me and then split/ship within the UK to save international postage on every order. The total before discount is $3,446 though so I don't want to front all that money myself! I would be looking for payment to start coming in before I pay Joakim then, which may mean the lenses don't arrive for a little while after the cheques are cashed.

The alternative is that everyone pays Joakim individually and receives an order direct from Sweden - much easier for me but more expensive in terms of shipping.

Maybe Joakim could take individual payment and then ship in one batch to me for onward distribution as a third way, but while I don't want to make money out of this I also don't want to fund the postage of 22 separate orders within the UK either.

I'm very open to other suggestions or input on which way you guys think I should run it.

Edited to add it's still not too late if anyone wants to join the group. I have emailed everyone on my list in the last 10 days or so, so if you didn't get one I probably don't have your name down.

hello

its all good in theory but the i guess this is where it can get a little messy, i think it might be best if we all pay sepately, as it would be unfair for Fen foot a bill for internal post, this is a tricky one. We all want the parts ? well i know i do[:D]
and i dont want anyone picking up a bill thats rightfully mine, but im not stupid either and know a group buy will help with the price. I guess it might be easier to pay indivdually to Joakim ???

Marc

Ps thanks for all your hard work Fen on this matter.[:)]

Has any indication been given to discount group buy price? I didn't realise numbers had been counted. I'll have front ones only for s2.
It would be best to set a cut off date for people to get their names in. Probably better to ask Turnclear how they would like the group buy to go.
Better to pay individually, then no-one is responsible for anyone elses dragging of heals etc. I was paid by individuals from the States in a group buy.

There's no cut-off really, just that Joakim will offer a discount based on numbers I think, so getting him numbers seemed like the first step.

I think the final mechanics of the buy has to be up to him but I think the postage he charges from Sweden is quite high so a way to avoid that would be worthwhile. Anyway I'll keep you posted when I hear back from him.

Your name is added now Darren.

I can't remember if I'm in or not? I think I was waiting for a price to make my mind up - if this is possible.

Do we have a maximum price yet Fen?

I counted you as I because when everyone else gets them you'll have to have a pair too [8D]

Seriously though I did count you in the total but Darren has joined since and I also only counted one pair for me but I might well have a pair for the cab as well as I'm thinking I might (have to) keep it for a few more months, so if you don't want them that will be fine.

I will let you know the price when I hear back from Joakim.

Edited because I forgot to finish the message before I submitted it...

Hi Fen,

Didn't get your mail so just wanted to check my name is still on the list for both front and rear lenses.

Thanks
Dan

MIssed you somehow Dan - you're on the list now.

I have just got back from a work trip to Madrid and I have some mail to get through. I have a price from Joakim in Swedish Kroner so I need to do some calculating. Expect prices tomorrow.

He also says he can do 968 lenses if he gets an order for at least 6 - one of my Region 15 mates wants a set so I'll post tomorrow on the 968 forum to see if there are any more takers.

I'd still buy fronts as then I can remove the big fog/driving lamp in favour of brake cooling and keep road legal by fitting a parking light behind the clear indicator lens at the other end from the ionicator bulb.

Man he speak of most sensible and considered conversion. Now that you have sugested it you have to go ahead and see it through to completion - it's The Law. Well, obviously it isn't "The Law" but it does sound and interesting concept.

Your wish is my command:

and "ionicator" (eh? what was I on?) not flashing...

Excuse the state of the rest of the car please; we still have some way to go before she's anything approaching pretty.

And how cool does that look?

I'm hoping a lot cool. I admit I'm pretty blimmin' chuffed with this particular mod.

Most definitely no 'break' ducts going to be fitted on my car though [] [8D]

Sorry Graeme but with 4 sets still outstanding from the first one there is no way I'm getting involved again.

Someone was thinking of running another buy - it might have been Carl before his car got rear-ended. If anyone does I'd suggest some sort of COD element to it to try to keep Joakim focussed on delivering in a reasonable time.

Very nice mod Fen. I firmly believe that proper ducting through the bumper and piped straight to the back of the disk totally removes the need for big brakes and expensive track pads, even on 300bhp+ cars.

I have squished my own 3" ducting to an oval shape when its inside the wheel arch so that the wheel does not rub against it at full lock.

As you probably saw on the shiney thread I succombed to the big brakes. I guess maybe the standard ones are OK if you're only shooting for 300bhp+... [;)]
