Cotswold rally

I think Rick is part way through upgrading / moving his web site so he's not been able to put new photos on there for some time now. I've been waiting to see the photos from last year's frontrunners.

Correct as far as Rick's sites go but it is motoring towards release very soon I believe.

I have a number of pictures from Frontrunner & Cotswold but certain blue colours are very difficult to photograph [;)]

Some novice questions - do I need to be a PCGB member to attend the rally?

What form does it take - is it more social than race?

Would it be appropraite to bring my 12 year old son?

Yes it is a club event organised for members and local authorities will be informed for an event this size

It is a social gathering at Club HQ followed by a drive through the Cotswolds following a Tulip map provided by Geoff the organiser. It is NOT in any way a race, there is no timing and no competitive element.

Would it be appropraite to bring my 12 year old son?

Yes it is very much a whole family event and you will definatley need a passenger to read out the Tulip directions to you. My own sons play the part of navigators and it gets everyone involved. Normally there is some form of family award

Easiest way to join is to call the office, 01608 652911. You do need a membership number to book, this is a properly organised event and there are local authority and police requirements.

Also book in Frontrunner, it's the main event of the year for front-engined models, or FWD as I've ben known to call them before Oli chips in! [:D][:D]

Blenheim Palace will also have a massive Register turnout, and Silverstone Classic is a regular for the 944 boys and girls.

Geoff

PCGB application and cheque in post today - are there any spaces left - can you keep one for me please?

I think you could be OK Colin.

We need all the 944's we can get as some of these other Registers look like they may otherwise beat us in numbers []

It is a little unfair as Rick and I wont count as we are event photographers and I believe Paul is also off the list as a helper. []

Obviously good opportunities to get pictures of your car in Porsche post - more so if you accessorise it with a pretty girl . [;)]

Looking at the current numbers, the 944s are in the lead, especially when you add in the number of volunteers assisting on the day who are also 944 Register members! [:)]

The rally looks just about sold out, so if you've not booked your place yet you need to get in touch with Geoff urgently.

I'm no 92 so see you there, sorry but taking the SC instaed of the 44 but it will be there in heart.

ps i hit a pheasant at 70+ today and smashed the fog, indicator stripped the light cover and cracked the corner of the bumper unit - balls pictures to follow on another thread

You might have read in your Porsche Post that this event is now almost fully booked. There is no chance of getting a late-booking, as names and numbers have to be confirmed in advance.

Don't miss out because you book too late! [:)]

Paul

How do I get access to members area - I'm now a member 55744 - but can't seem to update my status?

Rgds
Colin

PS see you at the rally...

I have just realised my MOT ran out today and i am in Liverpool all this week, will try and get an MOT booked for Saturday ut there is a risk it might fail - handbrake is poor and I had planned to get the sills done by now - though I think they are still ok for an MOT.
IF the worst happens would I be able to attend in my porsche cousin audi A6 quattro S-line - we can compare the underneath with a cayenne / discuss if any of it might turn up on a Panamera. I guess if not then there maybe a last minute place up for grabs,
Tony
