Cotswolds Weekend 10-11 May

Quite a few coming now Alex (note* must update the list), however all the stops have large ample parking (well they are when I go visiting them [&:]) so no need to rush..[;)]

Maps will be handed out at the start and no prizes for finishing first, well apart from its your round at the bar :ROFLMAO:

Hi Gary,

PMs do not seem to be working at the moment, but I wanted to let you know that we will unfortunately not be able to attend the Cotswold Weekend - sorry we're going to miss it as it should be great event! Anyway, I hope you all have a lovely time - best wishes, John & Pam Megarry

OK John.. sorry you can't join us, but I 100% appreciate you letting me know.(saves me sat waiting on the morning)[:)]

Gary

Just part ex'ed my 1st Porsche for a C4S 997 about 3 weeks ago - haven't stopped smiling yet!

Have you got a space for another just for the day on Saturday please?

Jon[:)]

Congrats on the 997 Jon, a fine choice that you'll enjoy for a long time. All 997's are welcome as long as they're club members, so drop either Gary or myself an e-mail and we'll get you on the list. 997@porscheclubgb.com

Well unfortunately we have had a couple of cancellations due to unforeseen circumstances, so I'm informed that there are spaces in the Hotel should you fancy a last minute weekend away

And what a weekend it looks to be..[:D]. have you seen the weather ??? a good chance of fine sunshine for the Saturday and Sunday [8D]
As you will see in the members section my car's back on the road and cleaned ready for this event.

If any of you have 2 way radios then please remember to bring them with you (so you can hear the hilarity of organisation if anything)
The tulip maps will be handed out on the morning from about 10.30 with the majority leaving at 11am, if your worried about following a Tulip map please remember that you can still just follow the car in front- as long as its a Porsche on the drive [;)]
Monies are only required by yourself for food and drinks at the various stops.
Sunday there is a cost required of 5 pence [:)] and remember to bring your membership cards for free entrance to Ragley Hall (doh!, mine was stolen over the weekend)

The final destination on Sunday is North Oxford, just off the A34...

Hi Gary

Sorry but I am not now going to be able to make the saturday rally. A re-occurring back problem has put me on anti-inflammatory drugs which means I cannot drive. I see from the itinarary that you are stopping for lunch in Bourton-on-the-water for two hours.. As we are only ten minutes away from Bournton, we may pop down and say hello and see all the cars.. What time do you plan to arrive in Bourton? Will you be parking in the large car park behind the town, by the Texico garage, where the coaches park?

Robert, sorry to hear of your pains, as another back sufferer I due feel for you.[]

It is hoped to park in the one near the maze and walk along the river into town, however if the weather is as good as is promised I now wonder if there will be spaces as it can get busy when the sun comes out. As you say there is the other carpark by the Petrol station which can be quieter..
Time wise I'd think it worked out at about 1-1.30 arrival

Once again another excellent day (Sat) touring the Cotswolds with a nice band of people in their 997s. A big thank you Gary for the time you and your good lady spent checking the route and putting the tulip guides together.

Best regards

Paul and Jean

Evening all..[:)]
A great big thank you to all those that came along over the weekend and participated in the event with the passion and enthusiasm that make these events worth putting together...[:)]
A real pleasure to get to meet so many like minded people and to have a weekend of weather like we did, you don't want to moan but it got Soooo hot today [8D] [;)]
One things that is becoming apparent on the 997 meets is we can put together a great selection of colours :p

I'll collate my pictures and post them up, a thank you to Alex on the headstart and posting those up [:)]

Meteor paint really does look stunning in the sun Gary [:)]

How many cars did you have today (Sunday)? And how many did you manage to lose this time?

That was a beautiful location you guys stayed at over-night. I had to be torn away, not to stay on [:(] Although probably quite noisey with that wedding there...

There were just the 4 cars on the Sunday drive, which made for quite easy/good progress.. and getting into pub carparks!!
So I'm happy to say that try as I might we all stayed together.
We did decide to finish before the end of the route by mutual agreement as the heat was stating to take it toll...[]
I sure everyone had safe journeys home...

Luckily being as were not dining at the hotel we missed most of it, my room looked down into the courtyard but the party was pretty much finished by the time I got to bed. Although the early morning (for my standards) helped me drop off quite quickly.. or was that the wine ?????[;)][8D]

Excellent days drive on the Saturday passing thro many picturesque villages we were not aware of with a delicious meal in our own private dining room at Russels two doors down from the Lyggon Arms hotel! What more could we have asked for?
Already looking forward to the Wye valley run in June!

Best wishes,
Andy & Jill

I particularly enjoyed it when we all got to a junction, stopped, and then in turn accelerated hard away.

With the windows down it was a real treat listening and seeing each car burn off [:D]
