Cup bargain

Been in touch with him quite a few times but this is bottom price. Been for sale for well over a year. If it he'd have come down a bit or the £ was not worthless then I'd have maybe taken that punt...

Not perfect but not bad.

See Charles! I have always told you they were much cheaper than you thought [;)]
Aw c'mon Phil, no surprises there; Charles is to Cup Car prices as Des is to 964RS and now Mk1 GT3 prices!![;)]

I think it looks good value (having not seen the car etc....), but once you add import duty and FX, I guess its all creeps up.

Did not last long. Anyone here bought it?

There was only a couple of hours left when Charles posted the original link....must have been a last second bid...if was actually sold.

I know of another and have details if anybody wants to bring one home. Full Wagenpass LS series Cup. Full engine rebuild up to 315bhp and 15hrs.

Great car! I have some more options but Bobs car is in the running.
Do non matching numbers put people off buying Cup cars or devalue them at all?

Mine is NOT a Cup Wannabee I assure you .... stripped Lightweight with the real feel and an RS Chassis ..... [:D]

From the collector´s point of view, yes.

I think, as much any special car is devalued by non matching numbers, no more, no less.

Charles?

Rgds,

For race cars, I would say that racing history/provenance supersede matching numbers (for the gearbox and engine that is, because you do want the original shell).

That brings me nicely on to my next question 'The Wagenpass!'. How important is it, especially if you know who the relevant owners and racers were? Would you rather have matching Engine/box numbers or Wagenpass?
