Hi

I saw the original Pegasus Bridge a few years ago when it was in a field about a mile upstream (maybe downstream!) very impressive with lots of bullet holes! How far away is the museum because it must be worth a visit, perhaps it is signposted.

The area where the gliders landed is also amazing, as a private pilot I was amazed at how they got into such a small space and in the dark as well!

Cheers

Sounds like a very interesting trip.
How many spaces left Gary, any room for interlopers?

Sent you a pm, yes we're up for this trip. Honfleur is very pretty but les flics are pretty ruthless if you park illegally as I know to my cost

Peter, you naughty boy [;)]

I've replied to everyone who's shown interest in this trip, if you haven't received anything then please do get in contact with me..

What is snow?

We are supposed to get some tomorrow and Thursday so the Island will grind to a standstill as usual !!

Wit my current "slicks" I might just take the bus (if it is going) or cadge a lift in my girlfriend's 4WD as I am not sure my 4WD and all the electronic toys will cope.

Cheers

I see Jersey airport is "Snoclo" at the moment!![:D] Sorry Gary, totally irrelevant to this thread but I couldn't resist!

Yep!!

Happens a couple of days every five or six years.

Getting home last night I was really grateful for 4WD Porsche Turbo version!

The airport closed around 0900 to clear the runway and reopened around 1400, guess they found the snowplough.

Lesley and I all booked in!

[:D] Super....

I am just chasing them on one of the bookings and have asked if they can give me any additional rooms..
All those initially reserved by me have now been taken.[:)]

I will email a document out with names on to those booked in once I have the confirmations.

garyw

The hotel seems to be returning all the confirmations as superior halfboard, having had this happen before and trying to advice the hotel of their mistake, only to have a reply of ' sorry your canceling'!! leads me to play it safe and discuss what I actually wanted on a face to face basis.[;)] - when I actually have a bed [:)]

The plan is for the dinner to be at the Sully, so our halfboard option does offer reasonable value for money.
However people are free to make their own dining options, I'd just advise to leave the booking as is for the meantime.

Gary

Been without computer for couple of weeks and just had to fork out on new one!

Having just paid a ****** fortune for major service as well, feel I need to get my monies worth out of the motor. Do you have any spare places left on this trip?

I need to see if the hotel also has single beds, because intending to bring along a new convert to the Porsche Marquee, but a 'Cayman Man'. i suppose you have to start somewhere

Sorry Jon, I'd missed this [:-]
I've sent the details to you via email, I know they do have single rooms/beds as we have already had one of them.. [:)]

Send our apologies to the Cayman.... [;)]

garyw

I'd left this open for those who read the magazine to see, however sadly the article never got published in this months Porsche Post...[:(]
So I will close this in a weeks time, so we do have almost a squad ready for the Invasion [:)]

garyw

This is now fully booked [:)]
With the full invasion force [8D]

I will send out routes and details over the next couple of weeks

garyw

I have sent an email out this evening to all those booked.
If you have not received the email, can you let me know (give it a day [;)])

Can you also let me know the details requested and interest in visiting the Tapestry.

Many Thanks

garyw

A copy of the menu has been emailed out..
If you can take a look over it and reply over the weekend/start of next week.. it should speed up the dinner sitting [:)]

Now to start watching the weather forecasts!

I hope everyone has been on google earth checking out the route??

Its a 50/50 with the Tapestry, last tickets are at 17.15, so will decide at one of the stops and take onboard the weather etc...

garyw

Long way out but the weather is looking ok at this stage with high pressure (supposedly) building. Re menu - runny chocolate with anything sounds good![;)]

I see that Channel 4 heard about our intended invasion, and are screening 'Saving Private Ryan' tonight at 9pm.

I thought this invasion was meant to be secret, these Porsches aren't made for tank traps etc!
