Thought we'd already written to say that we would love to join you again this year, but looking back through the thread, I clearly haven't!
Hope it's ok for us to join in, you all made us feel very welcome last year. We ordered the tickets a while ago, do you know when they plan to send the out? Also do you know what we need to do with regard to the infield parking?
Best wishes,
Mark & Alison
Looks like it will be a busy weekend which will be great (I have ordered sunshine)
I don't know when the tickets will arrive, but last year it was just before the event. Your infield Porsche parking tickets will arrive with the entry tickets this year not seperatley as last year.
Cheers
Kerry
The booking website said that tickets would arrive from two weeks before the event, despite getting emails apologising for there late arrival.
Some news from the Donington Historic.
The last date for purchasing 2 fo 1 tickets on their web site is midnight on April 20th
They intend to start ticket dispatch a couple of weeks before the Festival.
Apparently there has been a very big demand from all the car clubs with over 50 clubs registered for the weekend.
More info below;
Sir Stirling Moss
I am delighted to announce that on the Sunday of the Festival, Sir Stirling Moss will be giving demonstration laps at lunchtime in the C-type Jaguar in which he won the 1952 Reims Grand Prix for sportscars. This was the first-ever race victory in a disc-braked car, a landmark event which cemented the Jaguar marque's reputation for innovative engineering and helped to make disc brakes the universal technology they are today. Stirling will also be signing autographs on the Sunday. Other star cars and drivers due to appear over the Festival weekend include Le Mans and Daytona 24 Hours winner and ex-Formula One driver Jackie Oliver, while Lukas Hüni will drive his SEFAC Ferrari 250 GT SWB "" the car that Ricardo and Pedro Rodriguez took to victory in the 1000km of Paris in 1961. Mark Knopfler, of Dire Straits and "˜Sultans of Swing' fame, will be sharing his AC Ace with Alain de Cadenet. And keep an eye out for Jonathan Turner's fabulous 1935 Squire Short Chassis in the "˜Mad Jack' race for pre-War sportscars.
Look forwards to seeing you all then
