Donington Historic Festival 30th April 1st May 2011

Hi Helen Thanks for the offer of a spare parking pass. If anyone contacts me I will pass them on to you. I must stress to others (not you with all your Porsches I hasten to add [:D]) that it MUST be a Porsche to qualify to park inside the circuit with the club. Cheers Kerry

My pass arrived today too. See you all there [:)] p.s. for those of you with wide bodies......take it slowly through the tunnel to the infield...it's very narrow! []

didn't know there was a tunnel at Donington. last time i had to cross the track (a RR do several years ago now) we had to wait for them to guide us across the track near the end of the pit lane

Should have made a wrong turn Helen and had a quick lap of the circuit [:D] I used the tunnel when attending the MotoGP a few years ago. With the huge crowds they get, the tunnel was a major hold up and it took me 3 hours to get out of the circuit []. Can't see it being anywhere near as bad for the Historic though.

If you look at the new map of Donington Park Circuit [link=http://www.donington-park.co.uk/downloads/donington-map.pdf]http://www.donington-park.co.uk/downloads/donington-map.pdf[/link] then it looks to me that there is another tunnel (9) that is to be used for the infield and this is where they are apparently sending us. This looks to me that the underpass that was being build to hold the "Grand Prix that never was", has been completed Cheers Kerry & Tom

children under 16 are free but, you won't be able to use the infield parking passes unless you come in a Porsche (or 2)

Hi Helen I wasn't going to be able to go, but is looking better, so if Jason doesn't have the pass, could I please! Thanks

Not a problem as there will be too many of us anyway! I'll get missus to check diary tomorrow and come back to you :)

Hi, i was a pcgb member when in surrey but as there is no group that meet in the cannock area i have let my membership lapse. Use to enjoy the monthly meetings and went on many excursions. Is this event open to non members or not? thanks.

the event is open to everyone & Tom and Kerry who run Region 8 are very welcoming i'm sure they won't mind you joining in. you'll need to buy and entry ticket. you'll also need a club parking pass to park your Porsche on the club stand but, i just happen to have a spare on of them [;)]

I have ticket for the Sunday for myself (son is 15 so, hopefully free entry). I have also been sent 2 infield passes but (obviously) am only driving 1 Porsche. So if anyone wants the other one, let me know asap or collect from myself as meeting up with fellow Porschers at Tibshelf Services (M1) in the morning. John

Hi Guys With such a packed programme did the parade possibility die a death? Just to make you all jealous, we are on the shores overlooking Arran, reading Tony Dron's excellent Porsche book with a glass of wine and planning the next blast! Max and Dorothy

But even in the idyllic Isle of Arran you cannot stop thinking about us guys and gals! [:)] I'm still waiting to hear from the event organisers about any Parade laps...... See you at Donington Kerry

Tom, i can't make it to this event as i am dog sitting but happy to let you borrow my water bottles. could meet you on friday at Donington museum or services.....somewhere where they won't mind me having a dog in the car [] could collect back off you at next club night or something ?

Hi Helen Thanks for the offer but it looks like it will be on grass so I'm going to need a sledge hammer to knock the posts into the very hard ground [:D] Sorry that you won't be joining us this time. Perhaps see you at club night Cheers Tom

What time is everyone turning up on Saturday? I'm guessing we'll get there mid to late morning - but everyone knows what Wardle timekeeping is like!!!! [;)]

Hi Helen/gonzosquigy, MOT ran out yesterday but as luck would have it ive had an MOT this morning and can therefore attend the Donnington event. I believe i have until thursday noon to buy a ticket for the weekend. However, i would like to join the porsche section parking etc. If you still have a pass could i please use it as i would like to join up with fellow porsche enthusiasts as I miss the surrey crew who i use to be with. If you do have a pass that i can use could you also suggest how i go about collecting it. Hopefully i will see you all there, David
