Eau Rouge! Eau Heck!!!

What he said! I wasnt even flat on the way in to be honest, nor were most of the RSs I saw at Spa trip last year.

I swear, but I meant braking in the compression, at the apex. I have never tried going past the apex without braking.

I am in the RSR on slicks here, but it is also easy to do with a 964 Cup on Michelin Cups (Charles'). Listen to the engine note.

I have never tried going past the apex without braking.

I did, and that was when I had an epiphany.[:D]

Lots of luck to escape from that one, the compression is deceiving, grip seems to be endless. The car went immediately after the compression, max opposite lock sideways up the hill. When it (i. e. the rear end) came back I was a passenger - two 360s in a row, it came to a halt next to the pitlane exit, pointing in the right direction. It spun that quick, at first I wasn´t really sure, if it was one or two spins.
I guess without breaking it´s about 20 kp/h too fast. (For those who know the story: There was that secret voice in my helmet...[:D])

Don´t try this at home or join Nitro Circus,

Hacki

P.S.: Phil, your vid through Eau Rouge looks absolutely correct, as far as I can say.

Shedwards said over the rumble strip dab the brakes to get weight onto front wheels then full on again. It is easy when you have done it once.

First time you need to listen Hacki! ;O)

If you brake before the LH corner and coast in you get big understeer in RS. Difficult to get back to the Apex on the hill.

MPCs Michael every time.

Hacki, even if I had heard this particular voice, I would would have thought that the voice (not me) was mad! Hats off to you, mad German! [:D][:D][:D]

Look at how quickly he is back on the throttle after the dab on the brakes. That's what is hardest: braking just enough and accelerating early.

Here's Shedwards at the PCF days last year on his way to a 2:53 in my car http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QDQ_hBEFjKA - pretty much flat until on the rumble strip on the left, dab of the brakes and a lot(!) of kerb on the left at Radillon!

Start at 7:39, the little voice spoke to him as well [:D][:D]

One of oddities about spa is that its legal to have the INSIDE 2 wheels on the kerb at Radillon (4 wheels off the tarmac), hence that is the racing line. they actually show you pictures of a car on the kerb in the driver briefings to make it clear. Hence, in the dry everyone does it. where as I've been black flagged for 4 wheels on the kerb at places like Snetterton. I can only think its because of people trying to avoid penaltys that end up in the wall.

Phil I will never forget the laps we had in the 3.8 RSR at Spa (and Ben), it is all just everything a 964RS Cup/NGT (stripped out[;)]) but amplified 2 fold ...... hope your car went to a good home.

I've bored you all off with my onboard from Spa before...

But none of that girlie lifting... let alone braking! Harry flatters WITH a passenger... he's not been the same since.

(Sorry not a 911... so engine in a VERY different place... but I was on pole vs 911s! Crested at Radillion at 140kph I think with him on board.)

And god only knows what Wolfgang "The Pirana" was up to in that 996! Thing was all over the shop and his lines were odd for someone who's extremely good... looked like the front end wasn't vaguely stuck down, he was turning in early to try and counter the understeer I'd guess.

Cheers
Rick

Yeh, there must have been summat wrong with Wolfgangs 996.......[:-]

Oh, and my favourite Bus Stop layout[:)].......hate the new one............[&:]

Re Mich's video . Looks like you lift off just before turning in before marshalls post then brake. Is that how most on here are doing it?
Sean sounds like he brakes just on or after the rumble strip , even then the braking is barely perceptable and he's back on the juice again. Incredible pace.
