Edinburgh OPC

Are sales and service the same people? I have always had the impression they were different teams. Always been OK on service, although had to be firm/insistent on occasion (like reminding them that an ABS sensor repair was under warranty when they presented £300+ bill - 'oh yes, you are right, I'll delete that'). Me and my 944 were treated well under the old regime at Colinton and not too much difference with the 996 at Fort Kinnaird. A bit snooty that my MOTs are done elsewhere. Will probably go elsewhere now that warranty cant be renewed - any recommendations?

M&P Super cars out at Cockenzie.

Or

Derek at the Edinburgh classic car club, he maintains all of there cars and does homers :)

Brian Millar gets a good name, does a lot of the guys in the Tipec club, these guys don't have deep pockets so look for good value and service 0131 443 7806

Aye, as everyone has said "¦ Brian Millar is the go-to guy in Edinburgh. Top bloke, honest as the day is long. Wee bit pricier than Motortune in Shotts, but handier for the East coasters.

If you ever need geometry doing in Edinburgh, Willie at CLCM is the the bloke to see (0131 458 5559). Cheap, fast, and bloody good. Does "˜outside contracts' for the OPC when they can't fit people in or don't have the knowledge on a certain model.

Have read this with great interest. I have had a few probs in the past with Edin OPC but in general they have been pretty good with me. It would also be very sad if the OPC visit scheduled for next month is boycotted as someone has suggested as to be fair, Edinburgh has accomodated us for 3 years running and it has always been very well attended night.

Kx

Kim,

I agree and as John said earlier in this post there are 2 sides to every story. On reading the story I must be honest and say whilst the OPC could be judged as not fully transparent,(according to the poster) I would not spend any money with any garage without seeing all the paperwork, even more so if the amount in question is near to £60K.

Caveat Emptor

True

But reading list of faults with the car on the main post and what OPC's claim they do in preparation for sale something does not add up

I just hope the original poster remembers when he goes to his meeting, that every word he has posted (both here and elsewhere, and even if since deleted) is in the public domain, and he can fully expect that Sytners will have read every word of it.

caveat emptor indeed.
