Event - Boxsters at Belvoir - Sunday 27th September

Who's exhaust are we hearing? [:D] Interesting place for the V1 - we found the suckers couldn't be trusted to hold it - so we mount it right down on the dash top, the suckers only have to support the sideways forces. Let me guess - you've got it on a permanent mount on the mirror? [;)]

That will be my PSE (Standard on the Limited Edition Boxster S) [:D]

Please don't anyone worry about the car being clean enough! If you drive it - it get's dirty. No problem - it's for driving! [8D]

May I be the first to congratulate Mick and Sue on arranging an excellent meet. My wife and I had an excellent time revisiting the castle, seeing all those Boxsters on display and being a part of it. It was very good to meet you both and I must say that arranging for nice weather in the morning so everyone can have a pleasant open top journey to the castle was a particularly nice touch. Was good to meet you and your wife, BartyB. Really enjoyed our chat. And thanks for the tips regarding Le Mans and Silvetstone. Apologies for leaving without saying goodbye. Hope you have a pleasant journey back. Hope all enjoyed the day.

First, but not the last! As Wallace would say "a grand day out": 190 mile round trip, overall average speed - well, I won't say, roof down most of the way (though not on the motorway), little traffic, great weather, no screaming kids. And no less than four 550 Anniversaries.

Thank you Mick and Sue for organising the day, also to Mark and Claire. It was good to chat Porsche and spend time in enjoyable company. Now I have done the reconnaisance and seen what a beautiful place it is, I will return with my wife. She doesn't do cars en masse, although I seem to remember her spending more than a few hours last year speccing her Mini Cooper![;)]

Thanks for a great day out Mick & Sue, really enjoyed it. I was amazed to see so many Boxsters in one place, makes you proud[:)] Thanks also for your company on Saturday night, it was great to see you both Cheers![:D]

Well what a great event (just home), many thanks to Mick & Sue for putting this together. 'Tango' enjoyed his first UK Boxster event very much .... (Some slightly orange photos may follow) Nick & Ed

Excellent venue, well organised, good weather and great company made this a fantatic Club/Register event. Well done to the Team Boxster Mick, Sue, Mark and Claire your hard work in preparation was well rewarded with almost seventy cars on parade. Well done and Thanks for a great Day[:D]

What a great day out! the castle tour was very interesting, lunch was very good, the company was very good and to top it off with a 320mile round trip - What a great day out! Big thanks to Mick and Sue for organising it for us Regards Wayne

Let me add to the chorus of approval - was a great day all round: top down drive, sunny location, new friends, good chat, lovely cars, tasty casserole, and a little bit of history. Serious thanks to Mick and Sue for pulling it all together. Amongst us all we must now have enough photo's to put a couple into the photo page of the Boxster Register now?

Great day out. Fantastic weather and nice to meet some new people. Thanks to Mick and all for organising this. I think a good location for all to travel to relatively easily and we enjoyed visiting an area new to us. Now if we could only eradicate the Ford Focus, Citroen Saxo etc tailgaters that seemed intent on displaying their cars' prowess 6 inches off my rear bumper on several occasions on the drive down! Peter [:D]

Sue and I would like to thank each and every one of you who attended Belvoir Castle last Sunday. The event was all the better for your being there. Thank you to one and all for your efforts in attending and helping to make it such a memorable day. We didn't get much opportunity ourselves to take many photos, so thank you to 'spyderman' for his post. Very much appreciated. If anyone has five minutes to spare, we recommend picking up the link on post 70 above. A creditable effort that is well worth a look. We would be interested to see any other pics taken, if only to find out how other members spent their day. For those who have been asking. Our 'on the day' reckoning counted 58 Porsches in attendance, i.e. 54x Boxsters, 1x Cayman, 1x 928, 1x 997 and 1x GT2. There were 93 members and guests. The Award Winners were;- The Oldest Boxster; Jason Richardson (Notts.) 1998 2.5 The Highest Mileage; Martin Nelson (Chiltern) 107,752 miles The Furthest Travelled; Ian Braide & Shelagh Allen from the Isle of Man The Longest Owned; James Sohl (Surrey) by default (no one else entered)

Excellent event & thankyou for letting my Cayman into this Boxster day at Belvoir Castle, Me & my girlfrind had a excellent day at this excellent place well done to all who arranged this event. I did have a problem with some of the Boxster Owner calling my Cayman a Boxster with a hard top but must people I talked to said how they liked the way I had done my Cayman. It was nice to see a rare GT2 & even rarer of only 250 cars that Orange 57 reg car from the USA. If you do this event again you can put us down for it, Thanks again go to all that attended to make this a special day for all the Boxster owner of the Porsche Club of GB. All the best Kevin & Evelyn. Porsche Cayman 3.4 S Tiptronic (10419).

It was good to see such an excellent display of Boxsters and the high spot for me was having very good chat with Albinodread and his good lady. And the sterling efforts of Mick & Sue to organise the day were very much appreciated. It looks like I'm going to be the dissenting voice here but I'm sorry to say that Belvoir was rather disappointing and came across as being a rather unimpressive pile to us. Subjective I know, but architecturally speaking, the place looks like a sort of dodgy Barratts-built water-tower. On the inside, the tour proved something of a let down for us, being rather short on history and content poorly displayed. And we weren't too impressed by the dogs' mess on the lawns either. I don't know what the lunch was like as I didn't speak to anyone who'd lunched there. Had a good run home though with the roof down most of the way [:)]. So Boxsters yes, at Belvoir no.

During the tour the guide did make a point of saying several times that it was a "family home" - perhaps that's his way of saying "the kids tear up the place so the displays are a bit ragged and we let the dogs out on the lawn in the morning" [;)]

It's customary in our house to tidy up a bit before guests arrive. Perhaps one just can't get the staff these days.
