Exotic Replicas - Visit 18 Feb

Hi John

Like the Idea of new members buying the food on the first outing, unfortunatley I don't think it will be good for recruitment, however it could improve the number of members that turn up [:D]

Just had another look at the menu and I'm undesided between the Steak, Fish or the Pizza, well I've got two week to deside

See you all on the 18th

Steve

Thanks for the update John. I'll be meeting up at Ferrybridge. See you guys on the day.
Mike

We will be meeting you there on the day as we are staying at Carol's parents Friday night. Carol is off shopping with her mum and her Dad is coming in her place.

the mill house at covenham is a great place, and a massive car park to boot.[:)]

Have been in touch with Mill House at Covenham to warn them of our lunch visit
They are open for lunch at 12 noon and only about 10 minutes away (see link above for address and menus)

Hope the snow clears and we don't get any more

John

Menu looks good, don't know about the snow,

East Yorks & Lincs are suposed to get 8" or 200mm today []

still its got a week to clear, [:D]

Steve

Looks like the Clk cab will be having a run to Louth- still, thats great because we can have the top down!!![:)]

Richard and I from R4 look forward to meeting with you . What route will you choose as it would be nice to meet up before we get into Louth and arrive in convoy. We are only 10 minutes away from Louth along the A16. If there are any weather concerns about going to the mill house, then you could look at the Brakenborough, just on the outskirts of Louth. This is at the side of the A16, has a huge car park and ironically is owned by a new R4 member.

I think Michael had better answer your question re the route as we are all following him. John

Ok Guys (n' Gals)

The route is as follows.

One group is meeting @ Ferrybridge services 0830-0845. That group is going south on the A1 to Blyth services to meet up with more members @ 09.30. From there we head up to Bawtry on the A631. Take a right at the lights on to the A631. Head through Everton to Gainsborough. This section has average speed camera enforcement so this section will be a gentle canter. From Gainsborough on we may progress to a gallop past Caenby Corner. Bear right at Bishopbridge and through Market Rasen. This leaves the run staight on to Louth. At the A16 we head north. There is a lay-by after about 1 mile. I suggest we meet here at about 10.45am. From there I hope the 'locals' can hopefully guide us to Exotic Cars.

Hope this plan meets with everyones approval................

Mike

Coincidentally, just been to Louth yesterday (Sunday) to pick up some service calls and drove to Exotic Cars. It's literally a couple of minutes from town centre on a small housing estate and tucked away unassumingly. From the outside looks just like a large lock-up garage but presume it is like the proverbial tardis from the inside. Plenty of parking outside and at Louth Windows adjacent so no problems there.
Should be a good run Mike as long as it remains dry.

Paul - you are most welcome to join whichever group is easiest for you - the more, the merrier (although I think Zuffenhausen is quite a way from the A1!!)
John

Ayup Dave, I will bring you a 6'' nail then you can thrutch it into your back tyre before we set off. Should make for an exciting drive down the M62.:ROFLMAO:

I know the lay-by on the A16, we will be waiting before 10:45. From there it is a short drive of 10-12 minutes. I would suggest we approach from the ring road, a more direct route is through the town centre but as this is a single car one way system, we may cause quite a stir as traffic flow is usually less than 10mph. I'll let you decide?

I've driven all roads on the wolds today from Market Rasen to Wragby, Binbrook and Louth. All roads are totally clear and dry, hardly any evidence of snow in the fields.

Fingers crossed! I've also heard - rain today and snow over the weekend. Hope not - that's not wot I ordered. Really looking forward to it, especially as Jane is buying me lunch. John

Many thanks for organising this John, we enjoyed the day out even though as we know the replica car place wasn't up to much- still you can't win em all!

Regarding the run home- if you get that shed of yours tuned up you might just keep up with a Mercedes Clk 200 Kompressor cabriolet.[:D] Think I was doing a steady 120 at one point but then realised that the handbrake was on!!!

Looking forward to our next run. If its nice and dry and sunny I might even take the 911.

All the best,

Chris, Linda and Michael

Me thinks that guy in the Merc. (his wifes) (cos he did'nt want to get the Porker mucky) needs to understand the 3 of us would have loved to got out of 2nd gear, however it was a great run and a good start to the R7 year, shame a sample of the completed car wasn't available however the run, the company and the meal were great.

Big thanks to John for organising the event and to Mike for the route

Cheers

Steve & Lorraine
