F1 testing at Silverstone June 3rd

Do the "little chef " people know we are coming.....
Wouldnt want them to run out of tea + bacon now would we.?????

Can I come out to play as well? anything for a bacon butty with fellow Porkers!! (I remember the rather good ones from the van outside Jamsport rolling road session last year)

Is the date of 3rd June now fixed? Do we know which teams will be in there?

If it's anything like normal Little Chuff services you had best get there the day before, and have your own sandwiches and flask with you. [:mad:]. Of the ones I've been to I wonder if the staff are sharing one brain between them. This is only a reflection of my experiences and not necessarily indicative of all Little Chef outlets, neither is it a personal comment on anyone who might work in a Little Chef outlet.
 
Well blow me down! There are 54 cars in the diary for this event! [:eek:]

I've spoken to Little Chef and they cannot lay on an extra Chef (not even a Little one) for just one hour so if anyone is planning to eat you had better get there a bit earlier than 10am to get your order of Lard in. Teas and coffess will be fine, and they have plenty of parking out front as there is also a Travelodge, BP garage and Mcdonalds onsite.

The 2 mile convoy along to Silverstone could be interesting so please everyone behave and be patient.

If everyone turns up I am going to rename this the 'Alternative Brands Hatch' Annual event and go for the world record of Porsche on track.

I have the day off but I am going to spend it helping to fit my suspension. I'd really have liked to go but not if it's in the Pug, especially if I can otherwise speed the process of having my car running. Next year then.

P.S. Do you think it's popular because it's free?

I have been asked by a few people that are coming about parking ? where will we be parking ? Do we have allocated porsche parking

I will answer for Paul............

USUALLY we have a huge carpark almost to ourselves, this carpark is just beside/behind Luffield/Bridge and is a 2 min walk past the security guards who issue you with a free ticket,
IMO no problems parking as your neighbour will be a Porsche anyway

We will park the Frod Galaxy at around Oxford and walk to the track [:D]
 
Thanks for that will pass the message on to all the guys and girls that i am meeting We are meeting at the little chief at marston moretaine not far from junction 13 on the M1 so if any one else would like to meet us there we will be leaving there at around 8.30 then meeting the rest at towcester at the little chief should be arriving there at about 9.30 traffic permitting? I fyou wpold like to join us for a convoy from Marston please let me no so we no how many we are meeting .[;)] Bev See you all on fri weather looking good!!!
 
You can add 2 more cars and 5 people (including my 10 year old grandson) to the list but I think that for a 200 mile journey we might need to stop and eat before we get there.

Anybody know yet how many F1 teams are going to be there (I seem to remember there is a way of finding out)? May come last minute if the weather looks okay and if 911s are allowed.
 
The latest info I have found is as follows:
Renault (Alonso and Fisichella), Ferrari (Badoer and Barrichello), McLaren (Montoya and Raikkonen), Williams (Rosberg, Heidfeld and Webber), Toyota (Trulli and R. Schumacher), Red Bull (Coulthard, Klien, Liuzzi and Speed) and BAR (Button and Sato); haven't called the number though.

Oh, and I can finally confirm I'll be there! Anyone else driving over from Brum?
 
I hope to come as well - another red 944T for the convoy !!. I phoned the Silverstone testing number and got a most unhelpful recorded message saying you can only view at Luffield and no guarantees on running schedule.
