Hello everyone,

If you would like to see me review a 1989 911 3.2 Carrera 3.2 Flat 6. REAR engined (not Mid slip of the tongue caught on camera there!) Classic 1989 Porsche with the G50 Box. Test driven on old English roads! I have pasted the link below...

Hope you like it [:)]

By the way I think we have a buyer so it's probably not available for sale!

Dear Rebecca,
Just point of correction all 911's are rear engined as opposed to mid engined, that's what makes then so unique......

Lets just call it a female blond head moment as opposed to female petrol head moment !

No need to correct already stated in my intro:

Flat 6. REAR engined (not Mid slip of the tongue caught on camera there!)

But yes you are so right, a blonde moment not a petrol head moment lol!!!

Sorry. Call me cynical if you like.

Trader joins forum and first post is a thinly veiled advert for a sales car: http://www.rjnetshowroom.co.uk/index.php?page=carsinstock

Sorry, but imho it would add a great deal more credence to a business if one was able to spell the name of the product one is marketing.....let alone the grammar.... [:D] !

I rushed a response and made a mistake in my typing there's no need to crucify me!!!

The video was made for a bit of fun and I thought I would share it with people who love their 911's. I apologise for being human and making a mistake in the filming and in the rushed posts above.

A life spent making mistakes is not only more honourable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing.

My grammatical errors were.......?

Good luck with the sale. Hey, why not take an ad in our club magazine Porsche Post? Call 01603 772574 for details. [;)]

Like it ;-)

Actually I'd like an old 944 to use on the track if there's one in there or anyone on here has one!! I'm afraid I would love to race a 911 but I'm not rich enough yet.

Agree that it's borderline adverising, but an interesting concept for selling cars.

Years ago we just had classified ads (with lots of abreviations). Then John Madejski, pioneered the ad with a photo. Nowadays, the internet rules and even the top dealers rely on Pistonheads. Adding a link to a video isn't entirely new, but could be an attractive ad-on to a PH ad.

Video quality would need to be much better, with greater attention to the car's detail. Presentation was actually pretty good, if rather predictable - there's only so much you can say about a car - and even the TV presenters get into tedious cliches.

Must say, the late 3.2 Carreras are still amongst my favourite 911s - and a good, original, low mileage example should be a lot of fun and a safe financial bet. But, the Coupe and Cab are traditionally the more desirable models.

Thank you [;)]

Apparently North American delivered cars have bph of 207 (154 kW; 210 PS) (@ 5900 rpm) and 231 bhp (172 kW; 234 PS) (@ 5900 rpm) for most other markets not that you're splitting hairs or anything. I'm sure none of you know everything about everything because that's just not physically possible!!

As for the straight six mis type I am used to talking about BMW engines so a slip of the tongue is in no way a reflection of my knowledge, it merely shows I'm human :ROFLMAO:

I enjoyed doing the review and driving the beautiful classic and that's what counts. Testing it with the £80 camera I have is a good gauge and perhaps investing in a new HD camera I have my eyes on might not be a bad idea. I will be recording some track action as well because I think that will be fun to do also.

Has anyone tried the goprocamera and what do they think of the quality?

Thanku.

I don't normally go in for knit-picking but that car is right hand drive so it's not an American car unless it has had a well dodgy conversion and that wouldn't make it all original now would it? Nothing wrong with being human, but you need to be in the right ball park (is that an Americanism).

Glad you enjoyed owning it though they are truly great cars. If it was me, I would want to get my facts straight before trying to sell it, especially to club members. It sort of makes it sound not quite correct which could put potential buyers off. If you don't know what it is, how can anyone trust it?

Good idea to get an old 944 for the track though, they are also hugely good fun cars and very cheap at the moment.

Yes that's right it's not an American car, but thanks for explaining which side the steering wheel would be if it was hehe, I just got the figures round the wrong way when I filmed it. I really don't think most of my audience are that bothered and the emphasis was more on the review than me selling to owners clubs. I thought you guys would appreciate my enthusiasm and focus on the positives rather than the two slip ups... but I guess that is the best way to show off your knowledge so I suppose I can't really hold that against you!

Yes old 944's I have noticed they are pretty cheap and should be good fun to track [;)]

[X(][][][:-] <----- you have some interesting smilies on your forum!!

How many mistakes were there, mid engine, 207 bhp, etc......think your running out of excuses to be honest,

Lets hope you don't commit so many on track!

Regards

Oh come on - give her a break - she's trying to make a living and at least it's a refreshingly different way of presenting the car!

Good luck to her I say.

"you're" would be the correct word here. Did you make a mistake? Or perhaps you "committed a mistake" in Beaky language...

Thank you Andrew I am indeed!! Unfortunately I will encounter keyboard warriors in the process! It still beats sitting at home not working, claiming benefits, though I'm sure LOL.

Well spotted! [:D]

Igonore them, Rebecca. I think people are so used to the professional TV productions that they forget amateurs are allowed to have a go. Get yourself on to the 944 forum area, they're a much more tolerant lot there. Most of them, anyway. [&:]
