I was told that the Chinese market simply doesn't recognise a Porsche - hence the need to label it!

I've certainly never seen a menu that goes up to no 911 that's for sure......( I thought after the earlier sexist posts I might as well throw in a racist one for good measure..........[&:])[;)]

Most stated comment . "expected a bigger change"
I understand that from just walking around it but in what, I wonder?  It's longer, the front track is wider, the cabin is quite different (from mine anyway!) , it's lighter and it has the usual power hike.  But more importantly it's the things that nobody except the press and dealers have yet to discover and that is how it drives!  7 speed manual, sharper PDK and that PDCC which, by all accounts, is the real trump card.  Seems like a fair amount of change to me?
I do agree on the price though.  I had a play with the configurator and hit £97k.......[&:]

When they are stand alone in the showroom I find it hard to judge size. However, yesterday at Silverstone I saw a 991 next to a 997 and I could see the 991 was larger.[8|]

It certainly pays buying cars from multiple dealerships as had 2 invites but took up just the one launch offer at Nottingham. I think from leaked spy shots and early press photos I wasn't expecting to be won over, but in the metal I found many things to like however if I had attended a design car clinic for the 991 I would have stated that the sunroof just doesn't work in the looks department. I looked at the mechanicals required to open the roof panel and the height the wind diffuser (with very flimsy fabric) has to raise in order to smooth the air over the opened panel, is this going to be an option that proves a liability on 4/6 year old cars? I would say the domed lights work for me as does the kick out on the bottom of the door, I criticised the Jaguar C16 X for the lip on the rear end looking like an Aston rear end feature but found exactly the same lip on the 991 just above the scripture. Interior has moved the game on - at last. Had the opportunity to chat to Geoff Turell for a while what a very personable chap he is and willing to discuss anything about Porsche and the competition. I had to update my wife what role filled in Porsche GB prior to the launch speech as she thought he was a PCGB member or someone from the Nottingham staff I knew. Geoff also mentioned that he had lived on the duck and potato all week at the various launch events around the country. Also pushed on the Cajun model launch and had 2014 as the answer so will be letting my Evoque deposit ride. Although tonight an insider at BMW says they are aiming to hit the streets with a X4 coupe SUV ahead of Porsche. A very good event, the 991 will certainly be more about the drive than style changes and when will the sport buttons move to the steering wheel?

Thank you OPC Nottingham, Anna (Notts) and Ben (Sutton Coldfield)
