First time Zymolist - Help !

glyn,

I have eventually done the whole system ( wash, klay, HD & then Glasur ) and the car looks good. Probably used a bit too much Glasur but I cant really see any hazy bits where it hasnt rubbed off OK. Its a bit strange having only ever used Autoglym before not getting loads of dusty powder everywhere after buffing !

The Zymol owners manual suggests letting the car warm in the sun for 30 mins and then re-wiping with a microwipe to beat the hygroscopic effect of the wax. Is this necessary ? The car has stood in the garage since monday when I completed the waxing, is it now too late ?

Also, would you say its OK to sling the pre-wax applicators into the wash with the buffing towels ? The microwipes seem to have to be done separately with some laundry soap.

Regards

Yves

First day out in the car after finishing the job ( car stood since for 10 days ), parked up at the office and hey presto, massive, offensive, disrespectful bird strike on the front nearside wing []

Rinsed off with loads of tap water and then Autobathed when I got home. Water ran off like the proverbial ducks back.

There is definately a real depth to the shine on the paintwork, the reflection on the flanks look like you could reach into them Matrix style.

Money well spent I think.

I would certainly be interested in this valet's details Adrian. I have spent hours with the HD Cleanse, Zymol Titanium etc and whilst the results are stunning it is damn hard work. Also where I live we have the drought order which doesn't help. Cranbrook is not exactly next door to Croydon/Purley so if anyone has a recommended car valet in that area do let me know.

Chris

My OPC is doing Zymol detailing with a starter pack as an option for £399 +VAT as part of the delivery on a new car. Is this poor value for money - I think it is? The starter kits retail for £149 so is the labour worth £300+

Full wash, clay bar , cleanse and wax is a minimum of 5 hours labour - do you really want someone else to be caressing those curves??

I originally had my car given the full monty late in the season(Nov) by Simon Belli (07862 236939) for £150 then spent the best part of £100 on wax, HD cleane, auto bathe cloths etc. Normally he charges £250 and so do a few other independants and it tkes 8-10 hours on an older car to do properly.
Personally I would go the independant route where its there main job rather than p/time OPC route etc

Gordon, thanks for tip about using Simon, he did the Royale treatment on my car today and it is fantastic, looks like a liquid finish. He spent all day doing it but it was money well worth spending (£200)

Shane, your more than welcome, I think he was using Vintage on mine!
Its well worth the money and having been around when he was doing the work I know how much effort he put in especially with the clay bar, infact I went over mine again whilst he ate his lunch, as what looked like white paint spots hadnt all come off. From watching I also know how to apply the treatment myself, though struggle with how much is to much wax! and I probably need to read up on when and how to use the cleanse when rewaxing.

PS and how much zymol product did you buy!

Hi Gordon and Shane hope all is well

Sorry guys I only done the Zymol Royale treatment for Shane at £200.00 as I had to change the date around at the last minute due to a meeting. If you would like to know my treatment prices for the Royale or Vintage please give me a bell on 07862 236939 or 01392 430 355 [:D][:D] or please email me on simonbelli@aol.com I do offer discounted prices for all Porsche Club members.

Simon
I wasnt upset by the price, I was one of your late Autumn customers last year and paid a little less than that ignoring the mileage excess.

By the way whose microfibre wipes would you recommend we buy?

Why the aversion to doing it ourselves ?

Its really not that difficult, just a little time and concentration. So much more rewarding.
