Floor Mats

Following a post to Titanic I contacted a company called License 2 Sell Ltd. on euromats2000@yahoo.co.uk.

For £28.99 they shipped me a set of pretty nice mats. Only problem was they were black, not dark blue. I mailed them and after the second time they gave me the return address and I got dark blue replacements yesterday. They are very similar quality to the Autostyle ones in my cab but slightly thinner, which is no bad thing given the likelihood of the runners catching anything thick. No badges or anything to make them look tacky - the black pair did have a small 944 badge, but it was OK as it would have been bear the handbrake lever.

I'm very pleased because they look the business in my dark blue and linen Turbo, and they even fit over the OE twist things that clamp under the seat runner that I had left after removing my (original with the car I think) Porsche mats. The second set came with screw in versions if you don't have any OE ones, but they were missing from the first set they sent.

I doubt I'll see the £6 it cost to return the black ones (but I'll ask again - you never know) but otherwise it's a (slightly cautious) recommendation.

I have looked at that company but they had a disclaimer saying that they could guarantee that fixings would match originals, which kind of put me off. But, as you are happy it will be worth looking into. Would like light blue really but dirt etc. is a no go.

I have a set of light blue ones in my garage that came with the cab. They are awful. Sort of bright sky blue with cream edging. Yuk!

Yeah! I want to keep it nice. Was going to replace gaiter with a blue again, as after a couple of days after buying car it simply perished in my hand (must have toxic skin or a bad ph balance) ended up buying a secong hand unit in black, which is fine for now, but after seeing the linen one I might be swayed. Linen is cream isn't it????

Yes. Although it's called linen grey (?)

What colour is your interior then, dark blue and linen?

V. dark blue, almost black.

Cheers Fen, We have the thick Autostyle ones in both of ours and they are so thick that the rears always get chewed up because we are always sliding the seats back and forth depending on who's driving. I should have stipulated a same leg length clause in my pre-nuptial [8|]

Received my (v.) dark blue set of mats today. Very quick delivery. Can't say I'm that pleased with the quality. I guess the material is ok, and it's nice that the drivers mat fits down the hand brake fillet bit. They do fit, but the quality of the edge stitching is basically crap and pattern not cut very well. They didn't come with any press studs or holes etc, just a rough rubberised back which I guess is fine. I put them in tonight, will have a look in the day light. Boo-hoo

That's bizarre - mine have holes with plastic reinforcing around them, and a pair of screw-in pins with twist tops to secure them.

I'll check my edging but I thought it was OK and the fit is fine on mine - only slight complaint is that the rears don't quite fill the entire space between the bottom of the back seat and the back of the front seat runners, but I don't really mind as I won't even run the car with a back seat.

If the pic is the driver's side one (I think it must be) then you're also missing a heel pad. I'll whip mine out and take a pic tomorrow evening.

The front mat is passengers side, but no heel pad on drivers. The really do look like they have been run up asap. Thinking about returning them, but hassle.................etc

Apparently mine are the slightly thicker pile therefore no heel pad. Now they are in and I've had a look in daylight they don't look too bad, they'll do I guess.
I was relieved to see the pic was of a mat! Probably for the best, as we know what the turbo is making up for. (allegedly!)

I got a set of these mat's via ebay and I think they are ok for the money.

Plus points are

Very nice fit
Lock down holes (I don't have anything to lock them too at the moment so if anyone can advise on the correct part numbers?)

Minus points.

Not very thick although this is being picky at the price they are.
I've got a Turbo logo on the drivers one and a 944 logo on the passenger side, both are a bit naff but not very big so no real problem.

Tim.

Did you not get a set of plastic screw in locators with them? I did with the second set, but I don't need them - I doubt you will be able to get the OEM brackets on their own (worth a try though I guess).

Anyhow if you get stuck then mail me your address and I'll post you the ones I got and didn't use.

I didn't get any screws with them, TBH I can easily improvise with some black tywraps fastened around the runner bolts. then again they are such a good fit that I'd be surprised if they move.

Thanks for the offer though.

Cheers, Tim.

Forgive my ignorance.....but what style is your steering wheel ?
Are they still available if so where from & how much ?
