Ben did offer to drive me down to the south coast to look at the car but I think there's people willing to pay more than I wanted to, so I decided to wait and see if they came up with the readies. My offer to him still stands provided the rest of the car is as good as he said.

Finally found someone who I truly believe will be a good new owner, who will look after her properly and who intends to finish the bits I didn't get around to. It will still be with a known enthusiast and I have agreed the option of buying her back in a couple of years (if I'm able) so have no intention of leaving 3.2 ownership permanently but all in all its been a happy ending.
This is the first time in my driving life that I haven't owned a 944 but I will be back to Porsche ownership hopefully very soon.

p.s. Damn does 5th gear in the BMW feel disappointing after going out for the test drive! It wasn't even running boost or being driven hard but you could still feel that unworldly pull on your neck pressing my head slightly into the head rest! I will miss!

I suspected the first person who gave her a test drive would part with the cash. I had a chat with him at the weekend and apparently he already has great plans to improve the car further and blow my lowly car to smithereens []

Yes the car has gone. Probably only right to let the new owner introduce himself in person if he wishes to though. Sad day[] but really pleasantly surprised by the number of people who wanted to come and see the car who had just seen the add on Pistonheads and arn't members here! 3 People phoned me last week saying they were after a good track day car and they wanted to come along for a test drive, I know a test drive is not a sale but it shows there is still a track day maket for fast 944's in the wider (non Porsche obsessive) world[] was refreshing!!

I agree, the new owner will be along in due course to re-introduce himself and his new machine which is in the process of being completely revamped to his personal taste.
The good news is that he is the right person for a car like this, like Paul Smith I know the car will get the love it deserves, while also visiting track days as well as the being used for general use.
