You couldn't make it up! [&:]
I posted a comment that there was a forum upgrade overdue so watch out for a day or two of downtime. 15 pages later it just goes to show that the 944 forum was a place people wanted to frequent before, and it's not as easy to use now as it was on June 28th! That's our fault, and whatever the mistakes were we need to correct them. Rest assured that the points raised are always being looked in to. If you saw my emails today alone there are dozens of discussions flying around about improving things.
Please. If you have any difficulties with the new format, how it works on your devices and operating systems, send the details to the support address and let's get them fixed?

As Paul mentioned, there have been many emails flying around regarding the look (and poor function as a result). Toys have been launched from prams and Paul and I our fighting to try to save our forum (as in all of us) before there is nothing left to resurrect.
What has become very apparent today is the browsing experience is very different subject to what hardware, browser and resolution you are using.
I have a high end 17" laptop at 1920 x 1080 resolution and it looks awful. If anything it is better on my tablet which is also HD but at least I can have it portrait.
The subject listings are almost indecipherable because the stat information is the same size as the title.
The Avatar and data information on the left is too big and, as a result, makes the accompanying post too big, even if the post is only a few words.
I believe these are the main issues and those I would like changed as having the greatest impact on fuctionallity.
If you have any other comments over and above these, I would certainly be interested. I'd still be interested if your comment is "Yes it is that which is bugging me" At least we can then develop a priority list on what to lobby for change as being the most important to those of us who actually use the forum.

and the popup in the list for related posts is very annoying, as mentioned above the size of the avatars is huge and makes a full page of listings a scrolling mission
I'm not a PCGB member so I don't really have the right to criticise the site or make comments, but I hope those are helpful.
other than that I will shut up
In the old forum - and also until yesterday in the revised forum - I only ever received an email notification for a new post on the parts of the forum to which I have subscribed. Suddenly I have been deluged with emails notifiying me that so-and-so has replied to a post to which I have subscribed.
I've not changed my profile and can't see if or where there's an option to revert back to the original option of just getting email notifications for new posts.

Just to say I've been in touch with George at Club Office about the email notifications and it's now working properly again, at least for me. As of about 6.30 pm yesterday I once again only get notification of new threads, not every reply as well. Good call Paul!pauljmcnulty said:Posting here won't help!
You need to either call the office or email the support address. As it's only some people there's sure to be something they can fix but they'll need to know who gets what, and what systems you're using.
I've had the same on another forum and it turned out the new version automatically sends you every reply to every thread you've ever looked at. The argument was "that's what people like now", with no way to turn it off. Hopefully this isn't a similar issue! [&o]
It had to change, this is the best of the choices available, and issues are being fixed (afaik) when they are reported properly.
Hope you find this feedback useful 'man []

Thankfully, I appear to be back to normal again.

John asked for constructive comments, which this is.
There is absolutely no justification for your belittling post and foolish exaggeration. I'd appreciate it if you would keep your opinion to yourself Malcolm. I will benefit from your 'feedback' by realising that I need to block you.
