It's a real shame but some idiots spoilt the parade laps for everybody, we were meant to have 3 parade laps but got pulled off the track almost straight away when some started acting like hooligans, it wasn't just the track behaviour that was the problem but also revving while firing off at a corner was breaking the tracks noise regs for a Sunday morning. Didn't look good for Porsche Club.
Where did you get this nonsense from.
The parade lap was rather somber, very little speeding or anything. We crawled around at 20 mph in a line.

Lol I think there was more noise from cars driving into the circuit than on track. I was one of the ones near the front and never got out of second gear. Perhaps if we had gone a little quicker I could have got into 3rd and been even quieter ;-)
It would have been nice if the parade lap briefing had actually informed people it would be 3 laps and ended early if anyone was "noisy". Good job I was not in my other toy as that would definitely have been over the db limit in 2nd gear ie speed and noise are not necessarily related ?
Edited to add I had a great day on Sunday. Thanks to those who organised, great parking area and easy in / out as you pleased.

It would be wise to consider which part of the Parade lap you were in before calling it nonsense! And take into account that you personally were not able to see all of the sections of the parade lap.
This was taken between Old Hall and Cascades.
Seems to be OK at the beginning then watching through you can see that there was plenty of space being left for 'run ups', the guy taking the video also comments on it. People have also said that in sections it was far worse than what can be seen in this particular footage.
Keep in mind that this was only at half a lap from going on circuit, the organisers pulled the cars off because it would no doubt have got far worse by the beginning of the second laps and then the third. I can see their point entirely.
The actions of some spoilt it for everybody else.

Going back a few years at Silverstone where Porsche Club also had parade laps organised, I seem to recall a similar thing happening, somebody I think in a 964 RS decided to get a run up and ended up going off the circuit.
I will say that one of the comments has been taken on board in that it would probably have been better to assemble all the cars on track in position maybe at the start/finish line and then to set off in one stream.

Well organised to all concerned. We had a great day there on Sunday and will try to be there for the weekend next year. What a lovely infield Oulton Park has, compared to the dustbowl of our local circuit (Donington).
Here, Here. Indeed the infield at Oulton is an ideal place to set out your picnic and sit back and enjoy the racing. The sunshine was the icing on the cake of a great day out. []
for the age related 911's, much better than the mix up at Silverstone, pity about the one lap but could see the laps getting faster
if the 3 mooted laps were done. A full track half day for £10 !
Good event though, sunshine plus terrific cars and great racing. Loved the 4 911's in the sports car race.
Managed to get 3 of them on camera coming up to Druids almost abreast, good stuff !

There is nothing there that I would class as hooligan behaviour.
We never got above 20 mph, despite the fact it was supposed to be 50 mph maximum. When we crawled around to Knickerbrook they were already queuing to get off, so I find it hard to believe 3 laps were planned.
Anyway, three laps or one, it was for charity so lets not make a fuss.

You can't see some of those cars speeding up to take the corner?
You can't hear the cars increasing revs to increase speed for the corner?
OK then.
But again keep in mind that could possibly have got a lot worse in the next half lap and beyond, at that rate there could possibly have been gaps of up to a 1 minute between cars at the end of the third lap, so I can see their reasoning behind pulling the cars off early.
Parade laps are parade laps, the guy taking the video comments on how 'enthusiastic' some of the drivers are, I'm not sure Oulton Park organisers were expecting to see any 'enthusiastic' driving on parade laps.

*One of the Marshals told me a while back that on the few Sundays that racing is allowed, they're not allowed to schedule races before noon (hence why the first race on Sunday was timetabled for 12.05).

I wasn't there on Sunday but my guess is that MSV quickly realized that allowing 100+ cars on track before their 12 noon noise curfew* could well have landed them in trouble if a vigilant neighbour had heard the sound of cars going round the track and reported them to the council.
Exactly one of the reasons Steve. It was a combination of the sound regs and the possibility of something going wrong down to an enthusiastic or overzealous driver, also the distances between some of the cars didn't make for a very good parade either.
