If your heater blows hot all the time, it is the control unit that has gone, and they are a dealer only part for £1500+VAT and labour (BTW, I have a very complex repair procedure that means I can do it for say, sucks air through his teeth whilst returning his Glasses Guide to his sheepskin jacket pocket, 'alve that[:D])

Buying a 944 will be the best investment you will ever make. They are practically maintenance free and it will cost only pennies every year to keep it on the road. You are bound to get back far more than you have put into it when you eventually sell.

My 2.7 was maybe not the best investment I ever made but I got more than I paid for it......
