High mile 944 turbo se

It was purchased as my Station car, I have to go to the smoke 2-3 days a week. My drive is 8 miles of A road each way, normally occupied by a truck or Ronda driver at 38mph, so have swapped my Saab 93 (with Abbot Racing Chip & Viggen rescue Kit) for this as the perfect overtaking tool.

It already has a K&N filter and a Promax Boost enhancer fitted, and that is far as I want to go with engine mods. My first priority is to get the body and interior up to standard spec; The armrest is missing, the momo wheel is worn, the momo aluminium gear knob is too tall and rather cold in the morning (a wimp after heated seats, etc in the SAAB), it has 2 rust patches and paint needs more cutting and touching

I also need to fit some decent tyres (it has P6000s on the front and Maxxes on the back).

If I can get that lot done before winter as well as a good service and the belts done I will be happy, I can then decide what to do going forward.

That's a sound & sensible plan - get the bodywork in order, remedy any little niggles thrown up by the service and make sure the belts, rollers (maybe water pump) are sound and she should stand you in good stead for years to come.

Do you know if the head gasket has ever been changed? They do tend to wear out at some point even on a totally standard car, but with your very minor mods it's something to be aware of.

Thanks for the advice Paul, when I have a spare hour I will dig out the mound of history and go through the bills to see if the Head Gasket has been done.

Frenchy, the first 3 of the 21 service stamps are in Manchester, it then dots around between London and Lincs, and then spends a lot of time being serviced around Kempston and Kettering. Then for 7 years it was serviced by Barr tech in Cambridge (not stamped in the service book) and finally TWG motorsport in Peterborough.
In summary it jumped around a bit at the beginning, but the previous 3-4 owners have all been between Cambridge, Bedford and Peterborough as am I
