Honing Driving Skills

The remaining places have filled up very quickly during today and the list is now full.
However, I can still take some reserves. So let me know me if you would like to be included 997@porscheclubgb.com
Regards,
Clive.

That's excellent news a day really to look forward to??
have any of you guys thought about the insurance side of things?
I've got Porsche insurance which does cover 2 track days but this isn't really a track day is it?
Anyone got any thoughts?
Cheers
Dave.

This isn't a track day. Every car has an instructor there a responsible adult in each car :). There's no open pit lane, no racing, no mixed marques, no timed laps etc. This isn't a track day In my mind and my insurer agreed when I asked for clarification. But, don't take my word for it... What do I know?! ;-)

I've done this event a few times now, don't bother getting insured there's nothing to make contact with. Lots of fun sliding around though, and a really great day out. Have the lunch if you can, they have great cooks.

I've also got Porsche / Marsh insurance. Spoke to them last week as I was updating my registration to a personal plate - this does count as a track day in their eyes. Fortunately they only charge me one policy modification fee instead of two.

Should be picking up my c2s next Friday so all things being equal you can count me in!
Best,
Nick
I think you'll find the event is full with a longish list of reserves.....enjoy the C2S though.[:)]

I must have been sleeping - this is exactly what I need. With 8 reserves already, I can't see a ninth picking up a place, but please put me down anyway, Clive. Do I need to do anything else to register as a reserve? It's a long haul from Scotland but worth it to me, and I'm available every day of the week! It would also tie in nicely with the Club Knockhill trackday the following day.....

Hi Richard,
If you can send an email to me at 997@porscheclubgb.com I will add you to my reserves group mailing list.
I will then be able to email everyone simultaneously if a spot becomes available. So position in the reserves list is irrelevant since everyone will receive the information together.
Regards,
Clive.

I've now been able to secure a few more places for a third session to run from 15.00 to 16.30.
Reserves were advised earlier today and 5 have already booked.
However, we now have just 2 spots remaining - so there's still a chance if you've missed out so far.
But be quick as they will go very soon. Please contact me 997@porscheclubgb.com for booking details and code.
Regards,
Clive.

Count me in!
Nick,
I think you may have misread or misunderstood my earlier posts. You need to email me direct with your request as I need to place your email address on my reserve list.
As it stands currently, I now have just one potential place remaining but I can't say for certain until Monday when I contact the PEC.
Regards,

Clive.

Sorry Nick,
I have just rechecked my mailbox and found your email.
I'll let you know as soon as I have a result.
Regards,

Clive

Can't wait for this and thanks again for getting the third session organised. Is there any chance of swapping places with someone in one of the morning sessions? I have to head north afterwards (about 325 miles), as the Club Knockhill trackday is the following day. I shall stay the previous night near Birmingham with my bro, so can easily be at the PEC first thing. It occurred to me that it might suit someone else to join the afternoon session instead.......... Sorry to be a PITA about this, if it's not on, that's absolutely fine.

For those who missed out on the 6th May project, there's some good news! [:D]
I'm looking at the possibility of running a similar event at Silverstone later in the year - maybe September/October or November time.

PEC won't be releasing their available dates until mid summer, but I'll let you know when I have more news and we'll see what can be sorted out.

I have already compiled a small list of reserves that I can contact and if you are also interested and would like to be added, please email at 997@porscheclubgb.com (no commitment at this stage). I will also post details on this forum too.

Regards,

Clive.

Really looking forward to this...especially as I have only had my 997 GTS for a month or so and am just loving getting to know it's capabilities.

One question. The considered opinion is there's no need for insurance ? Never been to the PEC so not quite sure what to expect. The only day I have done that was similar to this was an official BMW day at Silverstone in my M3 many years ago which had some but not constant instruction.... I took out specific track day insurance for which is not cheap. That was on the main circuit though.
