I'LL BE BACK.....

Looks great. Can I ask, are the clocks actually new or have they been refurbed? Reason for asking is because a couple of mine need doing and would like to know who to use. Cheers.

You talking about Des's white and orange car?

Not this time.

Axle stands? Air jacks?

Air jack not in it at the minute and its safer on the axle stands on my spongy garage floor[:D]

Car looks very special Jason - I assume Paul Mc's service is essentially one of project management overseeing his contacts doing the work?

Couldn't help noticing and have to ask... is that rust on the steering hub and the bolt next to the ignition barrel? [;)]

To a certain extent it is Rich although his knowledge on how they came from the factory and his attention to the minutest details is invaluable - he does have some good people though!

Its not rust, its 'patina'[:D] The extension on the steering hub is not that nice or original as you can see but I had my own new one here so it will be swapped...

Refurbed by ReapAutomotive

Jamie will come back to you on the wheels but what wheels exactly are you wanting refurbed - is it split rim speedlines?

That's what I meant but you put it in a better way which didn't sound like I was doing Paul an injustice! [&:] What I should have said was Paul manages his trusted people and makes absolutely sure the car is built 'factory correct' and to his own very high standards. I didn't realise that he offered this service. This will become even more valuable as more of these cars grow old and start to require restoration to factory standards in the future. I wonder if he would be 'insurance approved' if (heaven forbid) any of us ever needed it?

thats funny, arch liners was something I thought as well!

I only noticed since I've recently had the painful experience of buying a full set of widebody arch liners from Porsche [:(]

Jason, no, I'm looking to refurb the same as you ie. three piece BBS Race Mags, though mine are 17" rather than yours which I imagine are 18"s ?? Can obviously send them back to BBS in Germany for rebuild, but that's expensive, and I'm not sure they will anodise, and more importantly I'm not sure they are even currently trading (gone bust again I believe ...............)

Is that the original Gear Knob? Very nice Jason, Spa (where it belongs) next year?

Unfortunately don't have a pic of original gearknob so can't say :)

The gearbox is a special 993RS six speed that was developed by Ninemeister to run with this engine. The bills for the development on file total the price of a brand new BMW!!!![][][]

I couldn't bring myself to refit a standard 5 speed as it's almost new[8D]

I want your Knob .... where can I get one:rolleyes:

Yes isnt it! Tell us more of how your project is getting on. This can be the widebody thread!

Cheers. Don't want to hijack this thread but things are starting to progress quite nicely. Everything should be done within the next couple of months. There is a build thread on Rennlist and I'll probably start a thread in 964 forum once the car is in a more complete state.
