Not bad for a 20 year old living in central London with no garage and a string of convictions ;-)

If you are interested in track days too, try competition car insurance who give me 5000 miles, 5 track days, £17,000 agreed value on a modified car for £450 with legal insurance (aged 44, rural Herts and no convictions). No affiliation on my part.

James can you clarify your insurance? I live in Bristol, not in the city centre, aged 55 may be I should try Saga.

SAGA also come up on Compare the market - kill more birds with one stone and just try it[;)]

You can claim a free MEERCAT!

Have you tried Classic Line? I can't remember exactly what my renewal was, but around £260 springs to mind, certainly less than £300.

Ah. Perhaps not then unless Bristol is relatively high risk?

I am 38, car is garaged, little hamlet near Hemel Hempstead, business use, 5000 miles, exhaust and suspension mods declared. 3rd car in the family.

Got a quote off the Mear Cat, £500 excess, premium £346. at 3000 miles, breakdown cover is extra £35. Not sure about Garanteed Value. Will try Classic line as suggested by Colin.

My car is at a Bristol postcode.....

Paying just under £300 for 3000 miles, mid 40's, garaged with legal protection and UK breakdown included for free via Classic line (second year with them)

More new, Classic line was the cheapest at £259.36 with £250 excess and agreed value at £20K. Put this to RH insurance, remember their renewal quote was £419.66. Guess what after "a please hold while we contact the underwriter" 2 min later yes we can reduce this down to £287.16!!!!!!! Last year I paid £389.02 so they ripped me off then, and were trying to do it again. Funny old world. That's enough from me on insurance.

i have just renewed with classic line must be the same policy £258.44 250 excess breakdown cover 75 windscreen age 58 lancashire area very pleased with service 8pound more than last year

Classicline do seem competitive at the moment, we'll see what my NGT is come the renewal. But I expect to stay with them.

Insurance companies not giving their best price first time annoys me too! [] I'm another one with Classicline and I'm glad to say that they're one of those rare companies that don't seem to rip you off at renewal time. Hence, I'm with them for my third year now.

I've been with Adrian Flux for a couple of years now. Quite compeditive and my car is lowered and has turbo twist alloys. limited mileage and all the rest of it. Perhaps being in the old timers bracket helps.

+1 for Classicline - it's renewal time for me too, got the letter from CL, tried confused and RH - cheapest quote was over £100 more than CL, with much higher excess. CL for me for about the 4th or 5th year in succession!

+1 for CL, 3rd year I've been with them....

£24 cheaper than last year & have added commuting for the occassional drive to work [:)]

5k miles, agreed valuation, 30 day fully comp Euro cover, breakdown cover, £250 excess

PS - make sure you advise them of PCGB membership

Hi Guys
Thought I would resurect this thread. I have just had my renewal notice from Clasic Line and it has gone up to £369.
Phoned Lancaster insurance (they advertise in Porsche Post) and they have quoted £252. This is for fully comp, agreed value £18,000, 3000 miles and breakdown same cover as CL. They also stated that this is not an introductory offer and would remain the same apart from general increases.
Has anyone used them or had any dealings with them?
Cheers

Keith

Give Aviva a try,
My requote from CL was too high at £340 even though I'd moved to a small rural town from B'ham and my car was now in a garage whereas before it was on a drive.
Aviva quoted £210 and that was with 6k instead of 5k miles/annum from CL. I got a better quote from CL after I let them try and match but £280 was their best.
