footman james wanted 320 for 3000 mile per year

I thought Footman were getting out of 944 insurance as a number of us with them were refused a renewal this year [&:]

Hagarty, Locktons and Classicline all wanted over £300 for me so I have renewed our S2 with the TiPEC official insurer Asset Trust at £198

This is a Classic policy with agreed value of £8000, for a 47 yr old, garaged in Northants and 5000 miles per annum. I had a £5000 claim where I was rear ended two years ago which doesn't help [:(]

Hi Pete,

I'm with Lockton. I'm also in Harrow, the car is garaged, all mods declared, agreed valuation, limited to 5k miles PA, with NCD protected. My renewal just came through at just under £300.

Hope that helps.

I would guess Loctons will still give you a quote, you may not get some of the benefits offered to club members though.

I have been with Loctons for a couple of years and found them to be very good, they are the brokers, Chubb is the insurer.

Cheers, Paul

Lockton's couldn't quote me for the annual mileage I required. They're not geared up for people who like to drive their Porsches, it seems. I'm currently with Classic Line. 10k annual limit, parked on the drive, agreed value, £170pa. Allianz/Kinetic underwriters.

Thanks guys...I have tried classic insurance before...trouble is in my experience they won't insure if it's your only car, even if you have use of another vehicle within the household...

Pete

Classicline for me. I believe that they only ask for access to another car, although I may be mistaken. £155PA: just renewed.

Pete, join PCGB fella, it has changed tech articles in the magazine now for those of us with muck as well as polish under our fingernails, then insure with Locktons. top notch insurance...........you know i speak the truth [;)]

That's correct.
5k pa including commuting to work, all mods and power declared, agreed value, about £350

I used Adrain Flux for value agreed on the S2, however Autonet did me an amazing deal on the 928 S4. 5000 miles, social use only, fully comp and no no claims (in use on S2), £89 with my wife and brother on it.

Classicline for me as well. They did ask for details of my van as my other vehicle, and the only one who's do a classic policy without needing the car garaged.

Mine is slighlty dearer than Glenn S: one of the advantages of being older is lower insurance prices [;)].

ClassicLine will cover a 944 as only car. My S.2 costs £192 for 5k miles, ungaraged, parked on drive. Would have been £165
for 3k miles, but exceeded that last year, so paid the extra. Includes the wife and have access to another car(the wife's 1.2
diesel Corsa). [:)]

A modified turbo as only car, I think would be a different matter.

Thanks guys....i have my finger in a few pies now....hope to get insurance sorted next week..

cheers

Pete

Classicline allow you to 'pay up' too, so if you're going to exceed the 3,000 limit you can pay the difference between the cover you have and the 5,000 mile quote (usually £30-£50.
