Is it me or are there a lot of 991.1 and 991.2 GT3’s For Sale

So feral and raw I couldn’t agree more . It’s closer to list price at least from where it was stupidly at. I had a test drive today. Didnt think could be that much over the gts. Which is the best I’ve owned of 6 911 like you said.I paid £91 for mine 14 months ago manual couple with 12k on the clock one owner. Now 18 k on clock. What do you think is a good trade in price?
id like to get off finance and their bs for potentially getting offered a 992gt3 and think I’ll have the gt3 Manual and be VV happy and wouldn’t need an upgrade for years. I’d deal with the market then. So they won’t be moving on price on the car I wouldn’t think in the dealer ?

My early 2016 GTS with 19k on was valued at £78k which I was pretty happy with, your manual is going to be a bit rarer than my pdk so maybe a touch more. Really depends on the GT3 you find And how much they want to sell it. I tend to always focus in cost to change, rather than part ex etc.

the GT3 I purchased had 500 odd miles on with a really nice spec and came in around the £140k mark, which as you say wasn’t far off the RRP plus options cost so made it easier to swallow after not getting an allocation.

I think the 991.2GT3 is going to be a high point, with emissions impacting noise moving forward but that’s just a personal view. If the prices start falling, you are not looking to flipping it, the way I see it I have a car I can take in tours of Scotland and Europe and really enjoy For years to come
 
If you've tried buying a Rolex Stainless sports model recently you will see the exact same thing... Authorised dealers claiming they cant get the stock and thus creating a buyers market. And then miraculously, dozens of the things turning up brand new and 'un-worn' on the grey market for double the retail price. If they are appearing in volume on the grey market, then someone somewhere IS getting the stock and choosing who (and why?) to sell that item to. I cannot believe that these manufacturers are not getting some kind of kick back. Perhaps we need to club together (no pun intended) and offer to buy 10 cars / Rolex's / <insert rare sought after item here> at once - perhaps that might make these companies sit up a bit.

Of course there are too many people chasing the GT cars, mostly to flip them, and if the supply met demand I guess these buyers would evaporate overnight. This may have already begun to happen with the current GT3.2 as a lot more were built than expected and I doubt the 50plus very low mileage cars currently on sale will find homes at the big sticker prices.

Talking to some other GT3.2 owners there seems to have been a pattern this time around, as the first 2017 allocation went to ‘the usual suspects’ for the well rehearsed business reasons but the subsequent 2018 allocation was more for known enthusiasts. Certainly quite a few Club members have them now on that basis.

I have bought a few cars from my OPC over the last 8 years but not in the quantity to qualify as a serial buyer, and now I’ve got mine (my first GT car) like some others here on the forum have driven several thousand miles, so it’s virtually worthless anyway ??


Porsche GB can absolutely tell some OPC's what to do with the allocation process because it owns some directly. The thing I think is absolutely appalling is when you hear of people getting multiple cars, there's one poster on another forum who has had a 991.2 GT3, GT2 RS, Speedster and a PTS GT3 RS. He is new to the brand (judging by some questions he was asking about a year ago)...and is a customer of a Porsche GB owned OPC. Fair play to him but the system just shouldn't be there to allow that many limited production cars to end up in one garage. He's already shifted the Touring to make way for this year's arrivals.

It is certainly a well worn path where OPC's allocate a GT3 to someone and then give them an RS slot six months later. GT3 comes back at RRP so OPC makes a deecnt profit on it and will rinse and repeat on the RS. It's inexcusable that OPC's allocate multiple GT cars to the individuals in the same model cycle. Eradicating that would go a long way to sorting things out.

There's very little Porsche GB can do about the OPC's they don't own but they can set a much better example themselves.

I'm lucky enough to have got a 991.2 GT3 myself...think I was very lucky to be honest. Car is coming up for 18 months old is going nowhere, have been using one of the PEC instructors privately to do some tuition so I can get my ability nearer to the car's!
