Is your 944 a daily or weekender? And what else have you got?

Mines a daily, especially during the colder half of the year, and it lives outside.
But when it warms up it'll become a weekender and the garage door opens to let the Beetle, Karmann-Ghia and Splitty out.

I have a MY00 Astra Sri for daily duties, and a Clio 172 Cup for fun also.

My 944 is my garage queen track car/replacement for the Clio when in the renault dealer [:-]

Weekender - ha! Mine is an occasional use for a few weeks every few years car (a bit like LIL; eh, Paul [;)]).

As per my sig I have an '02 530d Touring as a daily workhorse and a '91 964 C4 as a plaything.

Alternate my 944 with my Alfa 155 as daily drives .
914/4 and 914/6 for alternate weekends [:)].
911T for an alternative to cars that actually move [;)]

The 944T was bought for the occasional track day and fun drive but I also use it once a week for the commute - just to air it! I also have an Audi Ur quattro, an A4 Tdi for the routine stuff, a Formula Vauxhall-Lotus single seater to race in Monoposto (www.monoposto.co.uk) and a race prepared Fiat Uno (much more fun than it sounds) to race in the Classic Sports Car Club's "Tin Tops" series (www.classicsportscarclub.co.uk). For the moment I also have a wife, but she wants me to make some choices - 944 OR quattro and FVL OR the race saloon. Arghhhhh! I might just get rid of the A4 and......no, best not go there!!!!

944 Turbo - a permanent garage feature, hoping to be brought out of hibernation next year for trackdays and fun stuff.
daily driver - yes, I have one of those [;)].

My 944 Cabby is for summer use only - mostly weekends and sometimes during the week. I also have an '05 XC90 and a Renault Clio (but my daughter has adopted that so I never get to drive it). And then there's the yacht which vies for my attention in the summer hence the 944 doesn't get out as much as it should do.... but that's another story.

Mine gets used every day for the commute into work and back, rain, hail or shine. Hasn't let me down yet and apart from a bit of clutch judder after too long in bumper to bumper traffic it does the job superbly.

944S2 is my car of choice for the mundane everyday chores..like visiting tescos.

for my other entertainment please see my signature... the vauxhall is to get Larry to work, take stuff to the tip and to pull our car trailer.

Dont drive daily but the 944 would be first choice unless I am towing, crossing (very) mudy fields, or transporting dusty or oily stuff, then I use this,

Mines been my daily driver for the last 8+ years, its always kept outside too. Saying that it will off the road for a couple of months over the winter this year to finally get some of the bigger jobs done to it.
To tide me over I'll be buying a banger to run around in, the sort that has just enough of an MOT left to get me through till March or April.

My S2 is a daily driver, 75 mile round trip, 225k & still going strong.
Weekend car is........ a VW Sharan. (or we have to leave one of the kids behind!)

Occasional use only and getting less and less. Too many to choose from. This will get even worse when the present project is finished - VW Golf Mk1 Cabriolet.
Daily driver is either a Volvo 940 Estate or the 924S, unless it is good weather then one of the bikes tends to get out.
Who said you can have too many toys![:)]
Cheers,

Mine is my everyday car and weekend car and anything else car. Kept on the drive, covered over and kept clean.
I do approx 7-8,000miles per year, is this an average?

Ours , a 1986 lux is our every day car ,we have had it 10 years now.It has always had a garage around it until this summer when Susan bought a rather tasty S2 cabriolet. It of course took priority for garage space. The reward from the L
ux was a failed clutch slave cylinder, soon sorted and I think now forgiven for relegation. We also have E911 MAC, a 911 Supersport Targa, pretty girl, recently on display at O.P.C. Kendal for the new Targa launch, we use this one for fun and Club activities.Until last week my daughter had exclusive use of our 924, but as some of you may know it was written off in an horrific rear end shunt. Thanks to the solidity of the construction of the 924 she escaped after being trapped in the wreckage for the best part of two hours reasonably unscathed.
Perm any one from three and you will find our cars at Club events throughout the year.
We now need another good 924 to replace the wrecked one any body got one the would like to part with .It will be used as a daily driver .

Quite envious of the Golf Cabrio. I saw a lovely black Sportline during the M4 schlep on Monday and I have to admit I quite fancied one. I very, very nearly bought a Rivage (the rarer green one) quite a number of years ago and have long fancied one. Ideally with a 20v turbo 1.8 in it...

Same as Big Les - just cherised and taken out at sunny weekends. Polished too much and not driven enough! - although last year's trip to Le Mans was fantastic and proved it to be a superb tourer.

Have a BMW 320si for the weekly slog around (see attached) and the wife has a VW Polo Gti which is a great little car.

The Porsche is by far my favourite though......

I also have an Audi Ur quattro

Oh how I love that car! I'm infinately jealous but you can't use it as a substitute for the 44 its not really the same kind of car, you need both kinds of driving experience.

Ben

p.s. I buy all sorts of other cars but always end up back in a 944 I just love the whole package, I prefer the feeling, noise and experience of the early dash lux but it doesn't have the power to satisfy my thirst for speed.

Hello Fen,
Mine is an automatic and the engine size is only 1500cc but it is a fun little car to drive. Major project as the paint colour is goldand the interior brown. Looks very dated now so the interior is being changed to black (from a donor car bought for the purpose and the colour is being changed to Ford's Roman Bronze Metallic (lovely dark bronze colour, so dark the guy at the paint shop thought he had made a mistake with the mix).
First thing I did when I got the car was renew all the suspension as it was 'shot at', felt quite sea sick when I drove it home from Milton Keynes.
Cheers,

I know Roman Bronze. My parents very nearly bought a new Mk4 Cortina that colour (with a Tobacco vinyl roof), probably in 1976 or so I'd guess.
