JUST CONFIRMED MY 997S ORDER

After much deliberation I have now gone the 10% route for delivery early Jan. Many of the better Options were still not available! Will run the car through to the summer and then maybe sell whilst demand for used cars will be high.

This is the spec I must be mad to choose Black!

997s Standard BlackSand BeigeInterior, Sport Chrono, 19" Sport Design Alloys, Telephone, Navigation,Cruise Control,Sports Seats, Bose Sound and 6 CD changer. Total cost on the road £69393, kept it under 70K.

Sounds good. What about the multi function s/wheel? With phone I've found it v. useful on the Cayenne, which has a very similar set up. Still keeps you under your budget.

DON'T DO THE BLACK THING...looks great but is NEVER CLEAN & that light brown interior will mark!!!!!!!! I saw a Cobalt blue car & it looks fabulous if you like darker colours that won't show as many marks...although it is an extra !!! Anyway one mans meat & all that!!

Like the spec, spot on but where is the sports exhaust.....a must have.

After much deliberation I have ordered Cobalt Blue (Initially ordered Artic Silver but decided too popular / common[:)]!). Now waiting for confirmed build slot as it may now slip from the Feb build promised.
Having drove and listened to the S, it sounds excellent and IMO doesn't warrant the extra for the sports exhaust - though i was tempted[&:]

I love Cobalt.

My dealer says that he always expects to see someone under 40 coming out of one - ergo I am too old. Boo hoo.

What colour of upholstery are you going for?

I'm astonished that so many people have neglected one of the most deirable options on a road car, in this country - Heated Seats. And only £269!

If you've never had them you don't know what you're missing. In winter they are wonderfully cosy and they warm you up long before the heater starts generating any kind of warm air.

I like my 911s plain and simple, but heated seats are a must have. And, even if you think you are made of sterner stuff - women adore them.

AFN Guildford ( sorry Porsche Guildford) said that I cant have the following at November Build,

Multi Function Wheel
Any Special Order Colours
Any Special Order Interiors,(wanted natural brown)
Sports Exhaust
Short Shift
Aluminium or Carbon Fibre interior bits

They also said that although some are due to be available in November not to hold my breath and probably wont be available on UK cars until the summer!

Adrian,

Don't know about Lexus seats, but on the 996/Boxster they're fine. In fact, far from being claustrophobic, the seats should be warm enough to keep the body comfortable and the cabin can then be slightly cooler. Keeps me fresh yet cosy.

GRAHAM...... Reversing sensors!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SPIZZ....Cobalt does looks tasty over 40 or not!!
MATTHEW....more reversing sensors!!!!!!!!!

GUY's what about the BOSE???

There are so many Cobalt Blue 997's in this first batch me thinks PCGB doesn't get surcharged like its customers []

I can see why Cobalt's going to be popular, although the cars look great in the black/midnight/lapis etc they are hard to keep clean & after a while don't half show the marks & scratches. Red is coming back in but isn't there yet, white & green are "never to be seen"(!) Yellow at your peril ! Seal grey looks great under artificial light but on a cloudy day looks like a battle ships under coat. Meridian is fab., but can look pink on some days (handbags free with every order!) Arctic Silver.....always looks clean, doesn't show marks or swirls & looks fab BUT virtually every car is silver & we have all had one so we want a change. Polar is a change , but not enough of one & Arctic is warmer!!!
So where do we all go, take the cat in & ask them to match it's fur (they would) or pay extra for Cobalt Blue (light enough to look cleanish & less marks) does look FAB............Hmmmm right where's the cat!!!

BOSE sounds good, but i can't justify the extra in a cabin so small. Just hope the std 'premium sound system' is okay!
All the demo cars I've seen to date have the Bose fitted, (and are Artic silver or Seal Grey) maybe they're trying to lure us all into this upgrade. Wouldn't mind a BOSE for the house though!
Very nearly spec'd red seat belts - but then remembered the natty red ones in my MG Metro Turbo back in 1985! Ummm.

PS Nice chunky steering wheel just like my Beemer[&:]

Apparantly so, its on the configurator and matey boy on the OPC added it to my spec sheet without any issue. (Think of the commission!) The only rider I have is it must not be the triangular wedgy thing like the Cayenne / Carrera. 'We' think its slightly smaller in diameter but thicker - oh er missus

Hello there, New to this board having ordered my 997S recently and thought I'd share the spec i've ordered which is penned in for a feb build.

997S manual, Guards red, black leather, Carrera classic wheels(anybody seen these up cloce?) and crests, sports exhaust (if avail), PCM navigation, PCM phone, multi func wheel, Bose music, electric seats, homelink door opener, rain sensor and mirrors and rear wiper.

Also thinking of adding heated seats due to posts on this thread for the comfort of my future wife but not certain.
This will be my first new porsche having got a 97 F355 at the moment (thats for sale) but I had a 996 C2 before the f355 so know what to basically expect.
