Just resigned from R23!!!

It has the appearance of an incident involving an upturned pram and some scattered toys.

Seriously, approaching the RO or the Regional Director would surely be more productive than a cryptic thread like this.

Pram is now smashed to bits and, Toys well and truly scattered [8|]!

Seriously, have a look at the posts I've made over the past year or so on the R23 forum. The effort I've made in trying to get
the group a bit more active than it is. I can count the replies I've had on three fingers! It's just bl00dy rude!

Look at the effort Dave Paul put's in. Loads of excellent photograph's, E-mailing everybody, a real solid guy trying to
"Gee people up" and, get things going. Look at how many replies he get's [8|]! Just plain bl00dy RUDE!!

So, that's a couple of the reasons I'm out. I can't be bothered with R23 anymore. It just seems funny to me that you have taken
the time and effort to reply to this post when, you couldn't be bothered to reply to any of my recent, shall we say "more
positive post's" [>:]. I'm not leaving PCGB, only transferring to another, more active region that, does more of the things that
I enjoy. Is that ok [8|]?

Seriously, If you had bothered to read a couple of my recent posts, you would of gleaned my reasons for wanting to transfer to
R20. I find the lack of response to any of the post's that I put up on the R23 section both rude and insulting.

Pete,

A brand new RO has just taken over your Region, he is tring to get up to speed and only recently managed to get the Forum controls, where he has not posted much in the past and IS LEARNING, GIVE HIM A CHANCE!

From all accounts the recent event at the OPC was a great success and his very aware of catching up with some active members in R23, and appreciates the enthusiasm you and others including 993Paul make, it is not over looked.

He tells me, he now needs a Regional Assistant to help in this vast Region, would you like to step forward, this is a serious request and maybe with Paul?

Steve your brand new RO, is open all hours, call him 24/7 on his mobile 07767 888993 and volunteer if you like[;)]

It is tough. So often people are willing to shout on the forums but not to pick up the phone.

It's brave to step up and volunteer to take a region or register on. It's really sad when you get abuse before your feet are under the desk! [&o]

The personal touch means so much more than internet posts. I know from when I started with the 944s that you have the occasional keyboard warriors, but most people are happy to help when you talk to them.

Pete, the whole point of the regions is to go where the group suits you. I'm in Chiltern, but have been to far more London meets, many Thames Valley, and even the Tipec local meets. I go where choose, but I don't publicly disrespect the new team running my region after the many years it was quiet, as I think they're changing it round. [8|]

There is no doubt Steve will change it all round, no disrespect Steve, but he is learning quickly his IT skills here, he has rather been in the deep end with little help other than myself and other ground floor members trying to show him the workings of the Forum, as I say he has only just got the Moderation of his own Forum.

Steve, would be replying here himself, but I know he is away this weekend with no internet access, but there is no doubt when he returns, late Monday will be replying.

What would be good Pete, is putting the boot on the other foot and supporting your RO and making yourself known to him, if not already and get involved yourself, HE DOES NEED HELP ..... Please pick the phone up to him Monday afternoon and put all this to bed and get part of a revitalising Region[:)]

Just adding, you will notice Steve has pinned the Important Dave Paul posts to THE TOP of Sussex Region Forum, he has told me how thankful he is to Paul and appreciates his enthusiasm.

The number of posts and response to threads on this forum is no measure of what's going on in a region. Crikey, if that were the case then R15 would be deemed dead and buried! Very few members in our region frequent the forum but in all other respects it is very active and being successfully run by our new ROs. I have also always taken the view that if you don't like what you see that it is better to lead rather than follow. I would echo what has gone before in that it is better to get involved and try to bring about the change you would like to see from within than stand on the side throwing rocks at those you are unhappy with - if that makes sense!

I'm sure for some reason Pete was not aware of the new RO ..... which would explain everything[;)]

Hi Des', Just a very brief line in answer to my detractors [8|]. I am going out with my wife and children for a lovely day out on
this beautiful day [:)] and so, will answer for my crimes in more detail, when I get home this evening. Mr McNulty, this really has
nothing to do with the 944 register and so, I really don't see why you are involving yourself [8|]. For the record and, to give my
detractors something to do today whilst attacking their keyboards, where exactly have I abused the new RO? Before you "attack"
me, why not do a little bit of research and read my "Le Mans 2015" thread a little more carefully[;)]! There you will see just how
much I have "abused" the new RO!! Incidently, while you are at it, why not note how many responses I got from that little episode,
and, while you are at it still, why not see how many responses I got for the "Le Mans 2014" thread?? Perhaps then, you might
begin to understand my utter frustration and annoyance with R23 []!!

Pete' (Ex Skyline).

Incidently Des', I was fully aware at time of writing, that R23 had a new RO [8|].

I'm also responsible for the forum, Pete...[:)]

If R23 doesn't suit you just move along. No need to post anything at all on the forum about it. If there's anything to say just pick up the phone to the RO.

To your knowledge, Pete, has the RO e-mailed out to the R23 membership about this proposed Le Mans jolly? If I put up a similar thread on R15 I would get less responses than you had. However, if the RO e-mailed out to the membership then we would be up and running. Organising any event in the club, and I've done quite a few, needs a multi-pronged attack, forum/email/PP. Otherwise you run the risk of bypassing a large chunk of your target audience.

Edit - And, btw, I don't think the previous posts are being "detractors" but trying to be constructive.

Challenge with Lemans for many is that they probably need to take a day or two off work (easier if you are self employed) and have other logisitical considerations so this far out many people are probably still thinking about it.

You started one thread since the end of April and in 7 days only a couple have responded to your Le Mans 2015 thread and that's reasons to smash the pram [&:]

That's not exactly a great deal of time for something a year away in the middle of the holiday season, on top of Steve bringing it up in PP. You have to give time for big ideas to take root and get a response. For all you know Steve may have a mail box full of interest.

As others have said maybe no one uses the forum in R23, you need to talk to Steve go along to a meeting and find out what the lay of the land is.

Aye, aye Captain! The new RO put a message about the Le Mans "Jolly" in the Porsche Post [:)].

Indeed Peter, Steve had a very last minute opportunity of a passenger ride there and back and am sure he had a Jolly good time and missed Church on the Sunday.

2015 Sussex Le Mans I'm sure is on his Agenda, maybe someone, would like to step forward and offer an assistance role.

For comparison Pete, look at the internet traffic on R25, an active Region that has a full schedule and choose to communicate mainly through PP.

You really do need to take a step back, and ask "what can you do for your Region and not what can the Region do for me"

pick the phone up[;)]

I have just spent 45 minutes writing a full and final response to Des' and Co, only to get a message up on screen saying that
my session has been terminated/timed out or whatever []. Is there any way that I can get back what I have written?
It was a very good post and, sums things up nicely I thought [:)]. Can't remember what I've written if not [8|].....[:)].

If you're planning an essay then it is better to write in, say, a word doc and then copy and paste into the post because, as you found out, it will time out on you....[&:]. This has happened to me in the past and I don't think you can get it back, sadly.
